Setting up RAID using mdadm on a proliant DL320 G4
Hi, I have a new server HP proliant DL320 G4, with two 160 GB SATA hdds.. I have installed CentOS 4.5 with mdadm without any problem, but when I disconnect one disk the server does not boot or I received a kernel panic when booting... I have disabled the SATA embeded raid (BIOS) and nothing.. I've also download the driver from HP site...

Centos 5.3, no AHCI on HP DL320 G5p?
I have one HP Proliant DL320 G5p, where for some reason, the AHCI mode is not enabled. According to server specs, it should have AHCI/NCQ capability, but ata_piix module gets loaded during bootup, not ahci module. Any ideas how to enable AHCI mode? lspci output: # lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 3200/3210 Chip...

network prob on Centos 4.4/HP DL320 G2
Hi! I've installed Centos 4.4 on a machine at work (it's a HP Proliant DL-320 G2 rackmout server that serves my desktop). In recent days (Centos 4.4 has only been installed for a little over a week), like, since Wed or Thu last week, every time I reboot Kudzu wants to remove the network adaptors then reinstall them and breaks the network. I've gone to the point of disabling one of

Had it with Dell Garbage - HP Question
I've got two DL385s and a DL320, and they all rock. iLO especially rocks, but to leverage the full functionality, you'll need to get the "Advanced License", which opens up full blown remote console capabilities (via Java). It's a separate piece of hardware that, as long as the server PSUs have power flowing in...

connecting 66 analog phones to asterisk - hardware suggestions
...s in favor of voip phones+network cabling is kinda out of the question. In your experience, will these units support all the phones talking at the same time with other units on the astribank, as well as to the pbx, pstn, etc? The asterisk pbx will be a server-class Hp Proliant unit (potentially a dl320). i must make sure the astribanks will not die when fully utilized. other hardware suggestions for this task will be nice. thanks, -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Erick ------------------------------------------------------------

Hyperthreaded CPU and SMP kernel
Hi gang! I'm using Centos 4.4 at work on a HP Proliant DL320 G2, which has a Hypterthreaded Pentium IV CPU. I used to use RHEL WS 2.1 on it, and RH installed and used the SMP kernel. Centos 4.4 did NOT install the SMP kernel. Is there some reason why I should NOT install it myself? I.e., some reason why an SMP kernel shouldn't be used on such a machine...

odd pxelinux/tftp-hpa problem
I haven't encountered this problem before. This is from a Compaq DL320, with Intel Boot Agent 4.0.17 and tftp-hpa-0.28 running on Solaris. The PXE stack gets its IP address just fine, but it times out on the TFTP. While snooping on the Solaris box and grepping for TFTP, I found that the box gets one block of the TFTP transfer just fine. TFTP Read "pxelin...

No localboot on HP Proliant with Smart Array and menu.c32
Hello, I'm trying to boot a HP Proliant DL320 G5 with a HP Smart Array E200i RAID card (latest BIOS and latest RAID card firmware). With menu.c32 or vesamenu.c32 from syslinux 3.50 the system hangs Booting from local disk... PXE-M0F Exiting With the latest dev version (3.52-pre) it hangs with : vesamenu.c32: attempted DOS syst...

xen-ioemu-3.0: AMD vs. Intel
I saw Nate Carlson's message saying "..and it has been tested on amd64". I just installed it on an HP DL320 with Intel Pentium D 930, running i386 Sarge+backports. The packages seem to work here with Intel VT as well - in fact I just got through the Windows 2003 installation to the point where I could switch from VNC to RDP. Cool! Note to self: maybe one shoud start hacking xen-tools so that it can be u...

SMP on a HP DL-320 G2
Hi gang! At work I have a DL320 G2 machine I use as my desktop (I know, weird!...). Back when I ran RHEL WS 2.1 on it, it always ran a SMP kernel because it has a HypterThread capable processor. When I installed (fresh from scratch) Centos 4.4 on it a while back, though, Centos installed only the UP kernel. I've looked in...

TDM04B vs Dell revisited
Hi, A week or so ago I wrote about the problems I was having using a Digium TDM04B card in a Dell PowerEdge 750 IU running Fedora Core 1. Digium steadfastly indicates their card won't work in any PowerEdge 650, 700 and 750 series machines "do (sic) to a failure in interrupt handling between the pci bus and the card." My question to the list is: for those of you using a TDM04B

Replacing disk in RAID array with bigger disk?
I have to replace a disk in a RAID-1 array (LSI 1068 controller in an HP DL320 G3) and I assume it shouldn't be a problem if I use a bigger one? (going from 500 MB to 1 GB) The controller should just be able to build the same 500 MB disk as it did before, right? Now, if in a next step I replace the other, still smaller disk with a 1 GB disk, too, will the controller...

Suggestions on XEN configuration with local and remote iSCSI
...ich will be replicated in its own to a secondary iSCSI SAN (probably they will use DRBD). This target will be used, in our ideas, to replicate our own iSCSI san, that we are going to buy. We will probably build our iSCSI SAN with OpenFiler (impressions about this?) on a 2U server (i.e. PE2950, DL320, ...), 500GB sata disks and two dedicated NICs for the SAN. We will have also a L3 switch so we can partition network traffic for the SAN, as well. We will buy also two dual socket servers with 8 or 16 GB ram (already looking in the list for dual core vs quad core). We plan less than 16 VMs wh...

Question about DSP in Digium card
Hello. I have a TE405P Digium Card (4 E1's) with ISDN protocol and I need to find out if there is any limitation about DSP capabilities, I mean, I am not sure how many phone calls my Digium card supports, simultaneously. The calling flow goes from IAX <-> ISDN. I am running this card into CPU like this: - Micro PIV 3.0 - 1Gbyte Memory Thanks. Levy.- -------------- next part

qla2xxx driver failed in dom0 - invalid opcode: 0000 [1] SMP
I wanted to post this in case there is a real bug here. The system this is on is running Debian Etch with the Xen packages from Debian Unstable (currently 3.0.2+hg9697-1). I am running all packaged software so this is probably slightly out of date. This is on an HP DL320 G4 with a Pentium D 930 processor. I tried unloading and reloading the qla2xxx module, but rmmod reported it in use, however it did not seem to be used by any other module. dmesg output below: QLogic Fibre Channel HBA Driver qla2xxx 0000:06:01.0: Found an ISP2312, irq 16, iobase 0xffffc2000001e0...

HP DL380 G5 with TE420
...ards in different slots What I mean by not detected is that in the HP utility SMBIOS you can read out the status of the pci-express slot and it says slot available also lspci does not list the card. Every so often the card is detected and works properly. I've tried with a different server (HPdl320g5p) and the card is detected in this but the cards generate NMI errors on many bootups. Does anybody have this combination of hardware working? Or can anybody think of something I've missed? Rgds Hans -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... There''s been changes to the fault handling code that could well have fixed this. Thanks, Ian > This is on an HP DL320 G4 with a Pentium D 930 processor.
