I don't recall exactly how it handles dependencies, but I think you can manually list them as part of the checkinstall process. https://wiki.debian.org/CheckInstall [Please remember to keep the list CC'd. I manually added a reply-to header, but people have expressed displeasure with that being done by the mailing list software, so it isn't done by default.] -- Charles Lepple clepple at gmail

How to rid yourself of Broadvoice
If you're having problems cancelling your Broadvoice service like I was simply do the following: 1) Dial 1-978-418-7300 (don't block your caller ID/CPN). 2) Announce your displeasure with the service to their voicemail (it should tell you something that you have to leave voicemail to get support). Expletives will reduce the waiting in step 3 from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. 3) Wait 10 minutes and your phone will ring with a Broadvoice representative ready to receive your appreci...

Using a Dual WAN Load Balancing Device
We have a client that wants to bond 2 DSL circuits instead of getting a T-1 (or similar) at their office to run their VoIP traffic on. We came across this Multihomed Gateway (MH200): http://www.cyberpathinc.com/mh200/details.htm Does anybody think this would work if installed at the client location handling NAT for 10 Cisco 7960's and connecting to our public asterisk server? My concern

[LLVMdev] Tail calls (TCO) in PNaCL | PNaCl Bitcode reference manual
...ptimisation will happen. I suppose we could specify some > guarantees if people want this. I found a thread where Evan Cheng proposed removing -tailcallopt from LLVM. It resulted in a number of language implementers who require guaranteed tail calls coming out of the woodwork to express their displeasure at the idea. It also resulted in some good discussion about why this is necessary and desirable. http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2010-February/029191.html The ability to guarantee tail call elimination is required for implementing functional languages. The Scheme standard requires...

New UPS supported in 2.0.4
Hi, I need to get a USB based UPS for a system which is running NUT 2.0.4 (a Debian Etch system). Does anyone know of a UPS that I can buy today that is supported by 2.0.4? Unfortunately upgrading the OS (and NUT) isn't an option. Previously, we used the Powerware 5110 (which used the bcmxcp_usb driver) and that worked fine, however that UPS has been discontinued and is no longer

Redhat vs centos vs ubuntu
This is a continuation of the thread about redhat vs centos and the thought of moving from centos due to redhats new business model. Forgive the length, but I had to share. I went ahead and downloaded the 5 year supported version of ubuntu server. You think centos/redhat is a bit tough or not polished? One day with ubuntu server and you will look at centos install and setup as a god! Where do

RHEL 7.3 released
That's all well and good, but how about you actually include the minor number AND the release date? I.e. 7.3-1104 for CentOS 7.3 released today, for example. I'm all for the SIGs to keep track of their own upstreams, but surely there's a better way to do this that doesn't annoy the heck out of us Joe-Blows out here. A lot of us don't have the time (or inclination) to deal
