Which is the latest Wine that has DGA support?
Hello. I'm trying to find wine that can make use of DGA (with new Linux distros like my Debian 4.0). I need it because I want to run Fallout 2 with acceptable speed - right now it is unplayable (without DGA). So far I tested wine 0.9.15 and some above - and no luck. I guess I should look for older Wine but which one exactly? Thanks in advance and sorr...

...cause I got some basic windows programs (mspaint, mscalc) fully working and WinOnCD worked fine. But now when I start a program (PowerDVD in this case) I get the following error message: bash-2.04# wine "/windows/E/Programme/CyberLink/PowerDVD/powerdvd.exe" X Error of failed request: XF86DGANoDirectVideoMode Major opcode of failed request: 136 (XFree86-DGA) Minor opcode of failed request: 22 (XDGAOpenFramebuffer) Serial number of failed request: 179 Current serial number in output stream: 179 bash-2.04# Does anyone here know a way to fix this? What did I do wrong? Many tha...

Wine Starcraft slowness
...r. I got OpenGL to work with my NVidia GEForce 2 MX card (hence, DRI works), because I have installed the Linux version of Unreal Tournament and it works beautifully. Unfortunately, that is much more than I can say about Starcraft under Wine. I understand that there is an X extension called DGA that I can use to speed things up, however, since I'm not familiar with the intricacies of X, I don't know how to enable it. Also, http://www.hazalthorn.freeserve.co.uk/xfree86.html sems to have explicitly disabled The DGA extension in order to get DRI to work, but that's for Quake I...

Starcraft is fast without using DGA?
...;s slow (about a 468-33) The real machine i runt it from is a celeron 416, 160 MB ram, geforce 2 mx400 PCI I *finaly* discovered i could get a trace from it by using winedbg -debugmsg i.e. ONE dash. I run a diff on both files, and i was surprized to see so many differences. The sections about DGA remained the same: trace:x11drv:X11DRV_XF86DGA2_Init warn:x11drv:X11DRV_XF86DGA2_Init disabling XF86DGA2 (insufficient permissions?) How come starcraft runs fast without the use of DGA? Has anybody else had seen this effect before? How do i enable DGA as user? How do i make sure my input isn...

dga, wine, and a tnt2
...nsgaming version of wine which i downloaded from their sourceforge page. I recently got my hands on a tnt2, after having used a voodoo3. (dont worry, i didnt pay anything for it =) so i installed everything, opengl games work perfectly (0.9-769 drivers). but when i try to run directdraw games in DGA mode, i get weird problems. the screen is split vertically into 4 parts. anyone ever experienced this before? and in monkey island 3, its not only split in 4, but also shifted half-way down the screen. so all you see is the top half of 4 squished monkey island views! ive ried running it without...

Screen resolution switch with DGA
This has me baffled. I run Diablo 2 under Wine, works absolutely flawlessly in every way. I have DGA enabled, and a 800x600 desktop (also tried the Managed and Unmanaged options). Thing is, my X desktop is 1600x1200x16bpp and of course Diablo 2 is only 800x600. Is there any way to have this resolution automagically change to 800x600 (nothing seems to do that here), and back when I exit it? I...

Vulnerability of suid/sgid programs using libXt
...-2000 -o -perm -4000 \) -print As the output, these commands would produce a list of suid or sgid programs in directories starting from the current working directory (/usr/X11/bin) to the end of the tree. A typical output would look like: X xterm dga Determine if you use every program in question. Look at the manual pages to see if you really need it at this time. I personally have no idea why Red Hat did not remove the dga(1) program of the XFree86 distribution shipped with Red Hat 4.1 as dga(1) manual page states:...
