I''ve been lurking here for a little while, and well, it has been a
great resource and help for me. I just wanted to say thanks to you

Opening a script with the R editor via file association (on Windows)
I read the posting about opening .R files in windows with the Rgui and was
wondering if anything has changed for R-2.8.1 and Windows Vista? I have not
yet been able to get the files to open in the Rgui, the association works
enough to open R but that is about it. Thanks for the input.

Novell
Hi,
I like to know if anyone has ever gotten samba to work on Sun Solaris on a
Novell Network.
I don't have an issue with installation on Sun Solaris that works fine.
But I've never put Samba
on a Novell Network Before. Please describe any steps or issue with this.

do to get LDAP support. I downloaded an older
LDAP-samba howto and it makes it sound like it
works (it just isn't compatable with the Win2000
schema yet).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

GUI share watching program
I've searched down freshmeat and the likes.. but I still have yet to find a
program for linux that runs like "net watcher" for windows.. which would be
a program for X that would show in real times all the people connected to
the samba server and all the files they have open under there names..
does such an app exist? smbstatus works great but doesn't cut it when I want

Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this and
how I can fix it? I would really like to get this
working to test out the viability of using Samba
w/ ldap as an alternative to upgrading our current
file server.

Potential Error/Bug?: addition of NULL during arithmetic
I encountered an error that does not make sense to me given my reading
of the documentation and does not appear to be referenced in the list
archives or online. The error occurred when a function received a NULL
value rather than a numeric value as a parameter and then attempted to
use the NULL value in the calculateion. The error: "Error during wrapup:

Large scale Samba installations
Hello Samba folks-
I'm currently in the position of trying to convince my IT management
that using Samba to provide SMB services to our NT client base is a
Good Thing. Our client/server situation is as follows:
o An HA cluster of two quad-cpu (400MHz) Sun Enterprise servers,
with IP address takeover on failover.
o About 1000 Windows NT clients connecting via SMB

Why is Sanitizing SQL Fragments so Highly Muddled?
I've found there are some times where jumping straight to the database is
easier than going through ActiveRecord (for instance: odd calculations
being performed or large sets of data being returned that don't need to be
instantiated into AR models). I can't find an easy or accepted way to bind
variables in a custom SQL clause. sanitize_sql_array is protected, so you
would have
