h323.conf - Asterisk not routing incoming calls based on IP - Ignoring type=user + host= + context=
...========================================================
The remote-test server sends the h323 call perfectly, but the receiving
server isn't matching and sending it to the propper context. Any idea why?
My [test] user is taken right out of the example h323.conf file
(billybob).

Deon

Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
...w important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to
use per month?
We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so
I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're looking
for.

I have also tried the bcmxcp and upscode2 drivers from some posts that I

Anything else I can check?

If I comment out the 2 lines that I added (above), tincd starts fine. It
seems that it doesn't like anything else in the tinc.conf file except
for the options that you have defined in conf.c?
Have I done something wrong?

How does Vonage support fax machines?
My boss is insisting we support fax, and I keep telling him that Fax over
IP is very unreliable and not recommended and his immediate come-back is
"Vonage does it." and it's very hard to figure out how.
I don't think Vonage does T.38, the Linksys/Sipura units they're using
doesn't support T.38 to my knowledge.
That means they have to be using G.711Ulaw to send faxes.

it gets it from the setgroup statement.
Any help would be appreciated.

GRSecurity and ALSA on a Gentoo Server
...an upgrade libpri/zaptel/asterisk from 0.9.0 to the
latest. The The Wiki mentions something about CVS and points to:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33345 but that link is dead. I
figured I'd just CVS Asterisk the normal way, do the make install and it
should upgrade it.

GUI that supports virtual PBX's/users
A friend of mine runs a small office building, 10-15 tenants. Each have
their own company, their own thing, renting space from him. His main PBX
is getting dated and his tenants are complaining. I was telling him about
Asterisk but his main concern is he doesn't want to have to always be the
one to add/remove extensions, or change the IVR hours or whatever.
Does anybody know of a free or

Rate Engine Compile Error
I've tried to compile rate-engine 0.5.2 on Fedora Core 1, Redhat 9 and
OpenNA Linux 1.0 and all give me an "Error 1" after typing "make" but with
no real reason given. Just a few standard/non-critical warning messages, and
then suddenly "Error 1"
Anybody successfully compile Rate Engine? The least cost routing module for
Asterisk?
Thanks in advance.

Cisco 7940/7960 QOS?
If I relay through my Cisco 7940/7960, does it do QOS, even with a dumb
switch?
I know you can set quality/qos but only if you have a layer2/layer3
switch that supports the tagging. A simple little linksys 5 port switch
wouldn't know about QOS, it'd give everybody equal priority. If a
computer plugged into the phone, and the phone into the dumb 5 port
switch and then to the internet,

Both lines in an ATA using the same UID/PASS
I have an ATA186, a tech just told me to set UID0 and UID1 to the same
username, and PASS0 and PASS1 to the same password. In my mind, this
would seem to have the unit registering twice under the same account,
which Asterisk wouldn't support. When a call comes in, it should go to the
last line to register. So to me, this means the call could sometimes come
in on Line 1 and sometimes on Line

RAID/SCSI/IDE/SATA and a TE405P (or T100P) c ard. Should I expect problems?
...hey all have Digium quad T1 cards and they all have from 2 to 4
T1s hooked up to them. We have had no noticable problems with dropped
calls/poor quality.
What are you looking to do with this system? what kind of traffic will be
going through these 4 T1s?

I'm confused. In the end, overall, which is best for a T100P (or even a

Strange Quality problems with Asterisk, Gentoo, Redhat and Kernels - /dev/dsp
I've compiled Asterisk on Redhat 9 and Fedora Core 1 in the past,
generally without any problems. Especially w/ the stock kernel, which I
generally loathe. When I tried to upgrade my Redhat 9 Server to the
2.4.27 kernel, doing a manual/clean compile, I had massive quality
issues. I was forced to go back down to a stock 2.4.24 kernel. Never
figured out why.
Now, I've installed Gentoo

FireFly Problem
G'Day,
I have a bit of FireFly problem that hopefully someone has seen before.
What happens is if I make to or receive a call from the FireFly network
the call will connect successfully. However, around 10 seconds after I
answer the call I am disconnected. The weird thing is same thing happens
if I make a call.
I've had a look at the * console and I can't see that my * PBX drops
