...een two point where dovecot tells the client he is here, and sould have nothing directly todo with the notification of new mails arrived. I played with the values around. And the courios is, in thunderbird the folloing. set to 30 seconds. Thunderbird pop up around 25 seconds after the message is deliverd to the inbox. set to 60 seconds. Thunderbird pup up around 50 seconds after the message is deliverd to the inbox. I switch over from archiveopteryx, where no such delay was. Regards, Ingo

strange dropping of Word.doc-attachements - sendmail dovecot RHEL4
Hi, we have a strange problem: two of our users informed me, that they aren't able to send word-.doc-files anymore while othe attachements work fine. The e-mail gets deliverd, but the attachement is dropped. This happens using the latest thunderbird 1.5.x and mac os x. The e-mail is also not saved in the send-drawer. If the users send the same e-mail to the same recepient using an other mailclient, there is no problem. Other users (like me) using the same systemsettin...

dovecot: lda(foo): Error: User foo doesn't have home dir set, disabling duplicate database
...u-13.10. I use dovcot as LDA with a LDAP-passdb and a pam-passdb. The userdb is static. A mail to LDAP-user 'foo' is delivered with the error-message dovecot: lda(foo): Error: User foo doesn't have home dir set, disabling duplicate database A mail to the pam-user 'bar' will deliverd without this error. But both users should work with the static-userdb. Where is my mistake? another bizarre thing...
...tes. recently, at multiple customer sites it has started just going away. no core file (yes, ulimit is configured), nothing in any of its (several) log files. it's just gone. running it under strace until it dies reveals that every thread has been given a SIGKILL. How does one figure out who deliverd a SIGKILL? For other, non-fatal, signals it is possible to glean the PID of the sending process in a signal handler, but obviously you can't do that for SIGKILL because the app doesn't survive the signal. I'm grasping at straws here, and am open to almost any kind of suggestion that...

LDA Problem
...dovecot.org/LDA but changed the auth_socket_path to point into the chroot of postfix. I have attached my dovecot.conf at the end of this email. The mails that are sent to the machine are not delivered at all. In the mail-logfile I can see the following error message for each mail that can't be deliverd: postfix/pipe[21344]: BC254154E5BD: to=<root>, orig_to=<root>, relay=dovecot, delay=0, status=bounced (user unknown) I've already search the net but could not find any clue how to solve this. Can anyone give me a hint what to do? cu Alexander dovecot.conf: ==================...

Features you'd like to see in a GUI?
...Here is the bottomline: ---------------------- The real need is for a commercially deployable solution that can create a business, without too many additions to it. Bicom Systems has promised for too long that their Pbxware and Switchware can fullfill this need to create a business, but they never deliverd their promise. PBXware and Switchware have been a total and expensive disappointment to me and for the few who invested in them. The story is similar with Thirdlane Technologies who promised a good Asterisk Management Interface but they have not been able to deliver a mature GUI to manage Asterisk...
