Maybe.
I open the case with fear and trepidation.
The first time I opened a PC case,
I zapped my video card installing a disk drive.
Under the impressing that memory was the most ststic-sensitive
thing in a PC, I had a friend install the DDR2 memory I'd bought.
'Twas frightening to watch: like wathing The Cat in the Hat
play with one's grandmother's favorite china.
So far as I could tell, he totally ignored the
possbility that static could do bad things.
It worked and I did not have a heart attack.
Also, what is it with...

Anyone with spare DDR2 ECC FBDIMMs?
Hi all,
As part of getting the remaining services up on the machine that is
supposed to run the Syslinux website and a few others, I would like to
factor away some services in VMs, which is great except it is expensive
for memory.
As such, if there is anyone around who has spare DDR2 ECC FBDIMMs in
2 GB or even better 4 GB densities that they wouldn't mind parting with,
it would be really helpful. The current RAM is 533 MHz, but I think the
machine supports 667 MHz too.

Best Motherboard
To all..
I was using a Gigabyte motherboard, and the board seems like a bad choice.
What do you guys recommend for a decent server board that would use a Dual
Core processor and DDR2 ram. I dont want to replace the CPU and Mem i
already have, just find a decent board that supportsthe existing..
Thanks,
Ryan Nichols

RESEND 8/8: DDR2 MR generation
Sometimes boot scripts leave the "DLL reset" bit on, but it shouldn't be set on every MR write. V2 addresses this by forcing DLL reset off in MR generation

RESEND: Implement reclocking for DDR2, DDR3, GDDR3
This resend fixes intermediate compilation issues, thus unbreaking git bisect.
In addition fixed a little thinko in nouveau_memx_wait, that transformed waits
into either sleeps or nops. I didn't bother labelling patches v2, I hope you
don't mind! :-)

DDR2 compile times (was Re: segfaults with 8 gig of ram)
Hello All.
Below are some compile times for 2.6.20 on an fx-62
running Centos64 with various 2 gig sticks of
dual channel ram (See previous posts with subject
of 'segfaults with 8gig of ram' for more details.)
It seems dual channel will compile a kernel faster,
but only gained around 30 seconds over 20 minutes.
Below are the shortest/longest compile times of
several compiles done over the

dmidecode Output
Hey Y'all,
How much can I trust the output of dmidecode?
The manual that came with my MB says that my MB can support up to 2 Gb
of DDR2 RAM. dmidecode seems tell me that I can load up to 8 Gb on this MB.
As 4 Gb DDR2 sticks cost about $100 each I figured maybe I should ask,
what's the chances that I can plug in two 4 Gb sticks in this machine
and actually have it work?

Still more questions WRT selecting a mobo for small ZFS RAID
Like many others, I am looking to put together a SOHO NAS based on ZFS/CIFS. The plan is 6 x 1TB drives in RAIDZ2 configuration, driven via mobo with 6 SATA ports.
I''ve read most, if not all, of the threads here, as well as sbredon''s excellent article on building a home NAS, yet I still have a number of unanswered questions.
I was leaning heavily towards the M2N-E for a while,

[Off Topic, kind of] eMachine model T5254
...omplaints on
www.consumeraffairs.com. I didn't take the time to do a thourgh search
so may have missed some. Red Hat hardware list does not have one
eMachine listed. I went to eMachine's home page and found the following:
AMD Athlon? BE-2350 dual-core processor
NVIDIA? GeForce? 6100
2048MB DDR2 dual-channel
320GB 7200rpm SATA II
16x DVD?R/RW SuperMulti drive
High-performance 15-in-1 digital media card reader
6-channel (5.1) high-definition audio
They do not list the manufacturer/model of the media card reader and
audio.
Any hardware guru see any problems?

also, try and scrounge another DDR2 SODIMM for that thing, according to
my google search, it supports up to 2 x 4GB == 8GB, and you said you
only have the stock 2GB. 4GB will be way better performance with a
GUI, 8GB would be even better. you still have a really slow CPU and if
its still got the original 5400RPM HD, a really...

Really Get 96 Simul Calls?
Hey guys,
I'm looking for some realworld specs on somebodys machine that will work
with the Digium 4-port T1/PRI card and that will support 96 simultaneous
calls.
Dell is soon to release the PowerEdge 1850: 2U, Dual 3.6Ghz Xenon, 1Gb DDR2
RAM, Dual 36GB Ultra320 SCSI RAID, Hot swap Powersupply, one 64bit 133Mhz
PCI and one 64bit 100Mhz PCI for about $3,000.
Tack on a 4 port Digium card and you have a Cisco AS5300 that can do FAR
MORE for $15,000 less.
I just need to know if this machine can support 96 simul calls in all kinds

Help with concurrent VoIP calls

individuos.
Estas pequeñas cantidades creo que me están
