Best Practices recommendation on x4200
Greetings all- I have a new X4200 that I''m getting ready to deploy. It has four 146 GB SAS drives. I''d like to setup the box for maximum redundancy on the data stored on these drives. Unfortunately, it looks like ZFS boot/root aren''t really options at this time. The LSI Logic controller in this box only supports either a RAID0 array with all four disks, or a RAID 1

[PATCH v2 0/2] Implement VFP context switch for arm32
Hello, This is the second version of this patch series. I only implement the VPF context switch support for arm32 and add dummy function to avoid compilation on arm64. I have switched the order of the patch because the old second one can be applied alone and the patch are cleaner :). For all the changes see each patch. Cheers, Julien Grall (2): xen/arm: don''t enable VFP on XEN

I'm having a Thursday morning mental block, any suggestions on the following would be most appreciated... I have (as an example) surgery = c("d48", "d67", "dnc37", "a75", "d10", "a78", "d31", "d55", "d1") before each number part the possibilities are c("a", "d", "dnc"), I'm trying to split each element in "surgery" so that I have, status time d 48 d 67 dnc 37 a 75 d 10 a 78 d...

Help replacing dual identity disk in ZFS raidz and SVM mirror
...nd a ZFS raidz stripe. Each disk (of 4) is divided up like this / 6GB UFS s0 Swap 8GB s1 /var 6GB UFS s3 Metadb 50MB UFS s4 /data 48GB ZFS s5 For SVM we do a 4 way mirror on /,swap, and /var So we have 3 SVM mirrors d0=root (sub mirrors d10, d20, d30, d40) d1=swap (sub mirrors d11, d21,d31,d41) d3=/var (sub mirrors d13,d23,d33,d43) For ZFS we have a single Raidz set across all four disks s5 Everything has worked flawlessly for some time. This week we discovered that one of our 4200''s is reporting some level of failure with regards to one of the disks We see these recu...

compler-rt, __aeabi_memcpy () possibly broken (ARM)
...py () has to be used. (also applies to memmove, memset, memclr) On ARM I have seen implementations of memcpy () using floating-point registers (if compiled with NEON support). The is perfectly legal, as memcpy () only needs to comply with the Procedure Call Standard. According to this d0-d7, d16-d31 are scratch registers. The situation is slightly different for __aeabi_memcpy (). The ABI spec explicitly states: "In general, implementations of these functions are allowed to corrupt only the integer core registers permitted to be corrupted by the [AAPCS] (r0-r3, ip, lr, and CPSR)."...

compler-rt, __aeabi_memcpy () possibly broken (ARM)

Normal AAPCS functions are allowed to corrupt d0-d7 and d16-d31, but the RTABI seems pretty explicit that these functions aren't. I think we've got a real problem here. Cheers. Tim.

[LLVMdev] A simpler method to reject undefined encodings
Hi Mihail, > static DecodeStatus CheckNEONConstraint(const MCInst &Inst, unsigned Insn) [...] > ConstraintCheckMethod = "CheckNEONConstraint" In general I like the idea of an instruction-validation method. I think it could also potentially solve the SoftFail/UNPREDICTABLE issues that are looming (and partially resolved for decoding at present). However, I think that to cope

support of SMBus on ICH3
Hello all, I have problems with enabling support for SMBus on STABLE. My motherboard is ICH3 (82801CA). As suggested in LINT I added 3 lines to my kernel config: device smbus device ichsmb device smb But after compiling, installing and rebooting /dev/smb[01] are not available and no changes in kernel startup messages either. So I

[LLVMdev] A simpler method to reject undefined encodings
Hello. Sometimes the constraints imposed on an instruction's encoding are too complex to be described in tablegen alone. In such cases a custom decoder method is implemented. This makes sense when the decoding itself is very complex, but it is wasteful to do it only when checking additional constraints. This is because: 1. a custom decoder method has to decode operands, set opcodes, etc. -
