My samba can't see its own groups! (4.0.9 as solo AD DC)
My samba thinks its own groups don't exist.
Background: I had a samba3 server operating as a NAS with some desktops
joined to the domain. I'm migrating it to samba 4.0.9 as an AD domain.
Users can log in and browse their home share -- but the other shares
aren't working. They're per-project shares set up to allow that
project's group access, and to forcibly make all files

testing shutdown: pc not restarting; and "ups unavailable" messages
Executive summary:
I am installing a UPS with NUT on Ubuntu for the first time. I could
follow the instructions up to "testing shutdowns" but on executing the
recommended command the computer shuts down and never comes back on,
contrary to what the instructions suggest.
I am also seeing regular broadcast messages on the console that the UPS
is unavailable (and in the? syslog that

Cyber Power LE1000DG UPS
I have a Cyber Power LE1000DG UPS I got from Best Buy this weekend. I plan to use it with a TrueNAS scale system, and it is connected via USB. Vendor link: https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/battery-backup/le1000dg/.
TrueNAS has you pick a UPS driver. I could not find any "LE" related models on https://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html (which is the list TrueNAS uses). Per

However, it is not listed anywhere on the Hardware Compatibility List

configured correctly yet). The UPS was not powered off by the master. I
don't know if the UPS

NUT with Cyber Power 700 AVR
I recently purchased a Cyber Power 700 AVR UPS. I installed it just fine
and wanted to install NUT to monitor the unit.
I searched the mailing
list and found a similar post. However, the distro used in that post was
different and the unit was slightly different (900 AVR).
My server is
running Debian Lenny. The Cyber Power UPS is connect to one of the serial

Cyber Power USB UPS'.
Greetings:
I'm evaluating two replacements for UPS upgrades to my dept. Because
the CyberPower OP650 has been retired, we are evaluating the
CyberPower600VA and the CyperPower 1000AVRLCD. We will be evaluating
others.
Initial configuration and communications are established via the
usbhid-ups driver, the gambit of tests are all passed with the
exception of one. I seem to be failing

Battery Volts shown as 20+ on Cyber Power UPS CP1000AVRLCD
Nut Developers,
I have unsuccessfully tried to solve a problem with the voltage value on my
Cyber Power UPS CP1000AVRLCD. Something is wrong with the battery voltage
calculation. It always reads around 20 volts with that's nuts (pardon the pun).
Right now:
battery.voltage : 20.3
You can take a look for yourself at http://www.3111skyline.com/nutindex.html

trouble with Cyber Power System CPS RS232 USB BRIDGE for UPS
Hi
Recently i bought a MicroDoWell BP50, and with it followed a USB 2
serial
converter. When i plug it into my 2.6.19 kernel, dmesg shows

usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver
So, i figured i should use usbhid-ups,

Cyber Power System CP1500 AVR UPS: changing battery.charge.low value
Hi Charles,
The posting at
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/432#issuecomment-405371395
references ups.delay.start and suggests setting it to -1.
upsrw -l pve1 at localhost listed this as modifiable but any attempt at
modifying the value failed. I used the *override.ups.delay.start = -1* in
nut.conf and this is now being reported.
Two observations are that once a variable setting

Is there any performance problem with hard links in ZFS?
Is there any performance problem with hard links in ZFS?
I have a large storage. There will be near 50000 hard links for every file. Is it ok for ZFS? May be some problems with snapshots(every 30 minutes there will be a snapshot creating)? What about difference in speed while working with 50000 hardlinks or 50000 different files?
ps: It would be very useful if you give me some links about

<Cyber Energy> <usbhid-ups/cps-hid.c>-Add HID Usage (Temperature)
Hi NUT:
We propose adding HID usage for "Temperature" to the NUT source code file cps-hid.c (driver: USBHID-UPS(8)<https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/usbhid-ups.html>) so that UPS temperature information can be displayed in the UPS status list. After conducting internal tests, we confirmed that inserting the following code:
