VoIP experiences with Cable and DSL
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, A thought occurred to me; Background; In the early days of cable, the cable people seemed clueless to things like over selling bandwidth. But as time went along they got it better and better under control. Of course their natural competitor, DSL, created a bigger demand for them to get things under control. Today cable is often giving

Frottle + Bridge + IMQ
...h feed themselves packets through netfilter queueing mechanism, but currently there can only be one netfilter queue per protocol family. To explain why I need IMQ in the first place I have to explain what frottle does. It is a deamon that tweaks the behaviour of a wireless network (overcoming some CSMA/CA traps that reduce performance in certain cases like hidden-node effect for example). For frottle to be effective it needs to control the outgoing traffic sent to the wireless network device. In my case it is an external AP with ethernet connection. So, my router has 3 NICs - one for WAN access,...

XML to monitor queues on Cisco display ?
Jean-Louis curty to Asterisk More options 4:38pm (7 minutes ago) Hi everybody, I'd like to know if anybody tried to write a xml doc to monitor the number of calls in Q, when working with an ACD it's convenient to see how many calls are waiting so the agent can speed up the conversation when it gets too busy :-) I was wondering if it was poss to display this info on a display of a

I'm advertising 05e1: Flow-control 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx 10baseT-FD 10baseT Advertising no additional info pages. IEEE 802.3 CSMA/CD protocol. Link partner capability is 0000:. Negotiation did not complete. (and file transfers were only going about 100 KBytes/sec). When I used mii-diag to force the interface to 100BaseTX-FD (which turns off the autonegotiate stuff) my SMB/ftp transfers bumped up to ~5 MBytes/sec and web...

Inexpensive Layer 3 Switch?
Any recommendations on an economical layer 3 switch? Preferably something that you have hands on experience with connecting to IP phones with attached PCs? Specifically I need the ability to set the VLAN in the phone to tag voice packets and to set a native VLAN on a per port basis on the switch to put the untagged packets from the attached PC into a separate VLAN. POE is not a requirement

Quick Question on Wildcard T100P
Guys, This is probably a stupid question, but I've got a client ordering service from a CLEC and they're going with a fractional T1. Only 6 channels are going to be voice. Is this a problem with the Wildcard T100P? We've only worked with a full PRI before. Thanks for any insight. -Corey ********************************************* This message has been scanned for viruses

SIP 400 Bad Request from Cisco 7960/7940
We've been experiencing an odd issue lately. I'm not sure when it started because it's not happening on most calls--it seems confined to a couple of our queues. It's consistent though. Here's the CLI output: -- Got SIP response 400 "Bad Request" back from 192.168.249.94 -- SIP/502-9a58 is circuit-busy I've tried a few different Asterisk versions
