...ufacturers can get away with this kind of fraud.)
So this is fundamentally a problem with the quality of the hardware,
and that's not something the file system can really compensate for.
And there's no way to tell whether a particular USB device has has a
high quality flash device, or is a craptastic flash device. It's not
like we can query the device for "I ripped off the purchaser" bit. :-)

ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
I think this is really an attempt at user feedback, rather than user
discussion. But there's no such thing as a user-feedback mail list.
Nevertheless, others may find this pertinent: why doesn't mke2fs
handle USB's competently? And if it does, why doesn't it reassure me
so? And how can I handle a linux-formatted USB flash drive in the
absence of my system giving me any guidance?

Firewall will definately increase jitters in your voice conversation
Hi,
If you will put firewall, then i think you will get
high latency and consequently you will hear voice
jitter in your conversation. so avoid putting
firewall.

Intel GMA4500HD and glUseProgramObjectARB
...cide, that you would prefer to have your balls hanging on the ceiling, with canales just around your neck, but I'm trying to play Civilization V on my laptop, with the aofrementioned Graphics card.
As appdb says it works very well, "platinum really", I thought it should as well in my craptastic rig. But that's not the case, as menu letters can't be dislayed properly, and most ingame graphics can't be displayed correctly, making the game noobly unplayable.
I guess the graphics driver are at stake, as terminal output points nonstop (like an ugly betch) that "glUseProgramOb...

Yes, this is the fundamental problem.
What's the best setting for the random blob of silicon on the end of
your usb plug? e2fsprogs can't call tech support, even to get bad...

PRI & Fax Passthrough
Hi all,
Just a quick query about something that my manager has asked about.
While I have talked with Asterisk people about this before, I forget the
actual answer.
We currently have an ISDN 30 installed on a Dell 2850, using a single
port Digium ISDN card. We would like to add an analogue card, plug our
fax machine in and have Asterisk simply detect the fax and pass it
through to the fax

Which Distro to Use?
I dont mean to beat a dead horse here but I just dont know what to do.
As every one here knows that pulseaudio does not work correctly with wine........ok that is cool but when the wine developers say just dont use pulseaudio that would be an glorious thing. But as most of us casual linux users have to work around for hours just to fail then revert back to windows ( I am not doing that but I am

Could you get your quoting in proper order? The way you did this looks
like I wrote the above steaming pile rant.
Whoever did write it, it's ridiculous, meaning it's worthy of
ridicule. From the provably unscientific and non-technical, to
craptasticly snotty writing "not to mention the fact" and then
proceeding to mention it. That's just being an idiot, and then framing
it.
Where are your bug reports? That question is a trap if you haven't in
fact filed any bugs, in particular upstream.

Snom firmwares suck <--additional datapoint to consider
We have a large install of 360's running rev 4.1 with zero problems. I did
another, smaller install couple weeks ago with 40 360's running rev 5.3. In
both cases, the install was identical, same Asterisk version, same dialplan,
everything the same except the differences were:
1. Different firmware rev
2. Different physical LAN
Guess what? On the smaller install, lockups and reboots.

Beginners Guide to setting up a Call Centre
This is currently still at a proof of concept stage.
After being mis-sold a Alcatel phone system, that does None of the
things we asked for.... (Ok it takes calls but that's about it) We are
looking at alternatives to try and bring some of the features we
previously had on our old Analogue STS phone system.
Looking at all the docs I can find Asterisks looks like it should be
able to do the

Asterisk QOS working perfect using sveasoft 3.11g
As seen on my post at:
http://www.sveasoft.com/modules/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=28112#28112
This works very well... It does NOT work with stable 4.0! sveasoft
will be issuing a bug fix for this (4.1) in the near future.
Final Rev of working script w/ asterisk support
I'm not going to run alchemy on production machines until it is stablish.

[RFC] PVFB: Add refresh period to XenStore parameters?
Hello,
Sometimes the backend of PVFB knows that it doesn''t need permanent
refresh, when the window is minimized for instance (no refresh at all),
or the administration tools know that the window is thumnailed, and so a
slow refresh rate is fine. Also, some users may want to tune the
refresh rate according to the smoothness they would like, balanced with
the CPU time that requires.
