Re: Questions about Samba and a WINS server...update
Ok...trying to follow up here and see if someone can help me out, and let me know what is exactly hapening here. I have a few ideas, but I wanted to post here. As I said in my previous post, I am having problems browsing the corporate network from a Branch Office. Doing some testing, here is some output from my log.nmbd on my WINS server: [2004/06/25 12:20:45, 0] nmbd/nmbd.c:terminate(54)

Question about Samba and a WINS server...
Hello everyone. I have a question about setting up a WINS server and to allow browsing across VPN tunnels. Let me give my setup... Running FreeBSD 4.9, with samba-3.0.4. Sole purpose right now is to just be a WINS server on the corporte network. We have 3 VPN tunnels setup at remote locations that will need to access the network and browse the corporate network. All the clients on the 3 branch

courtesy message calling mobile phones
Hi everybody. Just noticed that when calling a mobile phone, Asterisk doesn't bridge the voice message by telco if mobile is unreachable, but keeps on ringing till it receives a hangup signal. I think this is due to the fact that the message is played without the call has been answered, but I'm wondering if there's some way to let Asterisk realize it. All I see in the CLI is the line

R: Re: courtesy message calling mobile phones
Calling any unreachable mobile from Fastweb or Telecom PSTN I don't get any courtesy message. The same happens when calling an inexistent number. I'm configuring two PBX's, connected to two different phone lines, both behave this way. Perhaps there's some missing zapata parameter? 1.8.0 beta2: courtesy tone being played to callee
Hi. I am using *1 in features to initiate a mix monitor recording. However, when I hit *1, the callee hears the courtesy tone which I have, so I know when the recording is started or stopped. This is a problem, particularly in automated system where the beep is mistaken for a tone or other problems. Should I file a bug, or is this going to be fixed? -- Your life is like a penny. You're

UK Asterisk user, please pick up the white courtesy phone
So, I have submitted my configurations as public samples, and I should have expected this situation to arise. I changed all the relevant "private" configuration data in my samples to obfuscate or alter IP addresses, passwords, etc. However, I left my email address in voicemail.conf... Let me tell you, it took THREE messages sent by a distinctly British-sounding gentleman leaving

Possible to get "Courtesy Tone" on attended transfer?
Hi All, Is there any way to provide the user receiving an attended transfer with a tone or other audible indication that the transfer is completed (i.e. Party A calls Party B, Party B announces the call while transferring to Party C, Party C hears tone when Party B completes the transfer so that they know that they are now talking to Party A instead of Party B)? I know this is possible when

Internationalized version of the Rcmdr package
Dear R-packages list members, I've recently uploaded to CRAN version 1.1-1 of the Rcmdr ("R Commander") package. Based on the tcltk package, the Rcmdr provides a basic-statistics graphical interface to R. The general functionality of the R Commander has not changed much since version 1.0-0. There are some small improvements to the package, but the reason that I'm re-announcing

WINS question
Morning everyone. Just have a quick question regarding WINS on samba-3.0.3. Running FreeBSD 4.9, with samba-3.0.3 built from the ports tree. The only thing I needed from this particular server at this time, was it to function as a WINS server for our company. I went ahead and did the basics, as setting the netbios name as well as saying 'yes' to wins support. However, I cannot tell if

Version 1.2-0 of the Rcmdr package
I've submitted a new, and substantially enhanced, version (1.2-0) of the Rcmdr package to CRAN. Some highlights (from the CHANGES) file: o Added ability to import from Excel, Access or dBase files (contributed by Samir Messad, Renaud Lancelot and Matthieu Lesnoff). o Added ability to read data from the clipboard (suggested by Graham Smith). o Added "Data -> Active data

[LLVMdev] Licensing requirements
My impression from reading http://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#clp is that it's intended to be possible to compile programs using llvm and distribute the resulting binaries freely. This does not seem to be the case. I'm assuming no portion of LLVM is included in the compiled binaries, only the runtime library components, so that the compiled binaries are not derived from LLVM.

X clients die after a while
The following message is a courtesy copy of an article that has been posted to comp.security.ssh as well. I have sshd (from openssh 1.2.3) running on my home machine (Debian GNU/Linux 2.2), and when I'm at work I like to start an Emacs like this: ssh -f -l offby1 my.home.machine.net emacs (At work I use ssh 1.2.27 from http://www.cs.hut.fi/ssh on RedHat 6.2.) This works fine,

Reading Version 4 .sdd files
Dear R-Help, I've never had any trouble importing data into R until I had to import an .sdd file for a class. The file can be found here: http://www.math.umt.edu/steele/Math%20549/Farms.sdd. It begins with the line "## Dump S Version 4 Dump ##". I first attempted read.S which issued the message "not an S object". I then checked the Import/Export manual which seemed to

Testing misc methods in ApplicationController
I''m already successfully testing before_filters in application_controller courtesy of this blog post: http://www.movesonrails.com/articles/2008/01/23/spec-ing-your-application-controller However, i can;''t work out how to test the sort of method that is added to application_controller so that all controllers can use it. It must be something simple that i''m doing

Merge?
I see that feature freeze for a better than ever R has been announced. May I ask if there will be or could be "merge" function for data frames? I believe it would be very nice if this were "centrally" implemented (with regard to my humble steps to writing such a function and the related error and other precautions). I know from VR2R.pdf (courtesy Profs. Venables and Ripley)
