An interesting observation - the value of the trusted.glusterfs.dht.linkto xattr is different on the one of the bricks of the replica set for some of the files(Ravi, any idea why ?)

Polycom 501 power over ethernet
...any mention of how people power these phones,
as I had planned on centralizing phone power on a UPS to supply my
Asterisk server and POE switch. Now the question is:
Can the Polycom AC-powered injector be used with a standard ethernet
patch cable:
switch :: Polycom injector cable :: RJ45 coupler :: patch cable ::
Polycom 501
which would allow me to power the Polycom AC adapters by my UPS. Or
do I need to provide a UPS at each phone and run the ethernet like
switch :: patch cable :: RJ45 coupler :: Polycom injector cable ::
Polycom 501
thanks.

cat 5 'joiner'? (polycom 500 problem)
What gives with the stupid stupid power system on the Polycom IP500 (I
hope they changed it on the 501's).
Anyway, does anyone know if you can get some type of joiner to connect
two Cat5 cables together, and will this affect the call/signal quality
because my Ethernet cable is longer than the dumb 11ft polycom supply
(oh and their manual is the wrong about which end goes into the handset

Contact closure UPS?
...39;s much more basic than the others. It
has only an RS232 port on the back, and I need help finding out what
interface it uses. The chips inside are just voltage comparators and
doesn't seem to have a proper "serial" data interface, it only has a small
board containing a pair of opto couplers going to the DB9 plug.
You can see pictures of the output board here (onedrive):

The only pins used seems to be 2, 4 and 5. ?Is it a RUPS interface? ?What
cable pinout do I need to build?
Thanks!!!

Network configuration question
Hi,
My wife and I live in a two-storey flat, and we have a small home LAN
(100% CentOS 5) with a "classical" configuration:
On the ground floor, there is the telephone jack with the DSL modem
router (192.168.1.254). This modem has a mini-switch with two Ethernet
jacks to it, and the two are used by:
- the server (192.168.1.1), a "black box" running in a cupboard 24/7

Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch recommendations
Hi listers,
I am looking for people who have used Power over Ethernet switches, primarily in conjunction with Polycom IP 501's. I've been looking at the Linksys SRW224P, since I've had good luck with the SRW224 in our office. However, Nortel, Cisco, Adtran, etc. all have an offering, all of which vary in price. I would appreciate any input people have to offer.
Thanks,
James

Mmm, I (respectfully) disagree. One of the unstated objectives of mechanisms
like this list is to evangelize the platform. Obviously, we all want it to
do well. You can only do that by creating
