mystery data fills my target disk
Hello,
I'm trying to use rsync to periodically restore a test computer from a
master disk image on a separate partition. The first time I copy the data
from the master partition to the target partition, everything works as
expected. But if I do the operation again, rsync indicates that it is
copying lots of files that have not changed. More significantly, the disk
usage on the target volume

Upgrade R?
I am trying to upgrade to R 2.14 from R 2.13.1 I have compied all the
libraries from the 'library' directory in my existing installation (2.13.1)
to the installed R 2.14. Now I want to uninstall the old installation (R
2.13.1) and I get the error:
Internal Error: Cannot find utCompiledCode record for this version of the
uninstaller.
Any ideas?

[LLVMdev] Question about variable sized arrays
I'd like to represent strings "Pascal-style" with a length field
followed by the actual bytes. Reading the reference manual, I think
using a zero-length array should work in a struct like this:
{ i32, [0 x int8] }
However, I get a problem with referencing constants. The following
code doesn't compie:
@foo = constant { i32, [3 x i8] } { i32 3, [3 x i8]

Question about compiling older package
I have a gst-rtsp-server 0.10.8.2 that I am trying to compile on
CentOS 7.2
I get this error:
rtsp-media.c error 'g_cond_free' is deprecated (declared at
/usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/deprecated/gthread.h:283)
[-Werror=deprecated-declarations]
What can I do about that to compile this package (I'm compiing from source)
?
Thanks

Exclude & --delete not working?
...ignored, i.e. act, as
if we used --delete-excluded and not just --delete. Or
does rsync treat directories/files, that are being
excluded serverside as if they would not exist, thus
deleting them ont he client? Should not act that way,
I think. We can not just give up --delete, as we still
want 1:1 compies for everything, that is not being
excluded. The version in use is 2.3.2-Dykstra_patch1,
protocol verison 21 on both sides. I'll try compile
something new now to see wheater that's the problem. I
hope this is enough information for you. I could nto
solve it by reading manpages and docs onlin...

Integrating ProPolice/SSP into FreeBSD
Hi,
first sorry for cross-posting but I thought this patch might interest
-CURRENT users as well as people concerned by security.
I wrote a patch that integrates ProPolice/SSP into FreeBSD, one step
further than it has been realized so far.
It is available here :
http://tataz.chchile.org/~tataz/FreeBSD/SSP/
Everything is explained on the web page, but I will repeat some
informations here.

actual solutions AEC different sampling clock
Hello,
I was looking at the old emails on this mailing list concerning problems
with AEC when having playback and capture at different sampling clock.
Several propositions came along like:
* Cross correlation
* clock skew estimation
* sample interpolation
* resampling the signal
* ...
I would like to know whether a working solution has been found as today or
are we always bound to use a sound

jitter_buffer_get(): packet too large...
Hi !
I am working with the speex client example which is on
http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/speex/speexclient/ and it does not seem to work
out of the box for me. I am always getting this warning messages:
warning: jitter_buffer_get() : packet too large to fit. Size is 70.
Do you have any idea of why this might be happening ?
Thanks in advance,

Need some help at interfacing R with Fortran-90
I browsed through ch.5 of R manual "Writing R extensions".
It seems to be written for experienced programmers rathern than for people who occasionally face this problem.
A table summarising the main ley points for each supported platform would be very useful.
Something like:
Supported languages: C, Fortran-77, ......
Windows guidelines:
1. compie Fotran code with (commands) from

openssh 4.3 on IRIX 5.3
Dear developers,
OpenSSH 4.3 (both p1 and p2) has a number of issues on IRIX 5.3 which
were not present with 4.2p1:
configure thinks that a number of header files are unusable. This is
because in order to use them other headers such as sys/types.h must
be included as well, and configure's test code does not do so.
checking ia.h usability... no
checking ia.h presence... yes
