...large (CD size) flac file, using --skip and --until to extract a single
track, flac appears to continue to decode until it reaches the end of
the file:

Ha. The flac files used in the examples below were of entire audio CDs;
due to my use of "time" to demostrate the problem...

I haven't been here during the development, and I haven't yet looked at
the source, but the end result is so impressive that it's moving me to
comment:
In this great free software world we live in, it is rare to find a
project so well researched, designed, executed, and presented as FLAC.
It fits my needs beautifully, aligns with my political interests, and
has been rock solid

upcoming release, need help
checked in to CVS is what will be very close to the 1.2.1 release
of flac scheduled for monday. if anyone can try building it and
even better running the test suite, and reporting back any problems,
that will help me get things in better shape.

problem with 24 bit odd size file (even in new version)
...he odd size fix judging by
relnotes) that i could add a dummy byte to the end and this seems to
fix my issue, just not cleanly.
here is what i'm seeing with 1.1.4 under cygwin:

Rather serious flac problem
...ecause I have been
compressing a lot of originals and deleting them after doing a 'flac
-t' on them.
Basically, flac failed with a 'warning' but still created flac
archives which tested ok.
Here's the scoop:
% flac *wav
