...the Mint package repository via sudo apt update && sudo apt install nut. Since the UPS battery is about dead at this point, the computer starts to boot up only till the UPS completely dies since its batteries are depleted. This is what...

...article will get the impression that R is a brand new invention, which is misleading and unfair. Gentleman and Ihaka should try harder to give credit where credit is due. And by the way, ARE YOU GUYS EVER GOING TO FIX your mailing list platform? It is extremely user-unfriendly and a technological clunk. The mailing lists for SAS, Python , and others (UseNet) may not be a user-interface-work-of-genius, but they are far superior to the R mailing list. What a clunk.

reboot of nut managment node resets Tripplite SMX1000LCD
Hi, I'm not sure if it is a bug or a feature. I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 on my RPi4 which connects to the UPS over USB. I have noticed whenever I reboot my RPi4. It resets the UPS ( I can hear the relay) -- Powerloss. Any pointers to disable this annoying bug / feature. ups.conf: --8<---- [tripp] driver = usbhid-ups port = auto vendorid = 09ae productid = 2009 bus

drbd + ext3 + interbase + data lost
Hello All, Yesterday, one of our customer's cluster(2 box) server goes down after a I/O error during the backup procedure. When we turn on the cluster again, the 600M database file have been lost, disapear. Now, I'm with one of the disks (the other was used to rebuild the database server) and need to know how can I recover any piece of data from the disk. After the crash we mount the

unclear about expected shutdown behavior
Dear all, first post here and wanted to start by thanking everybody who made this possible. I've been reading the docs and setting up NUT from packages on ubuntu xenial. I have nut[-client,-server] installed, version 2.7.2-4ubuntu1. My UPS is an Eaton 5S 1500, which I picked from the list of supported devices. I've got it working and I can correctly query/monitor the UPS via USB etc.

Secret of Monkey Island SE, steam on wine, crashes on start
...nstall the game (after it installs directx), apparently with no problems, but when I try to run the game, a window opens saying "Preparing to launch The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition". This closes and then a blank window opens, which is initally white. There is an audible "clunk" from the speakers, the white rectangle shrinks slightly into the top right corner, leaving a black border on the left and bottom. At the bottom right, a Steam logo apears saying "Access the Steam Community while playing". And then nothing else happens. No visuals appear at all and n...

Migrate from Samba 4 to Samba 4?
...e of late - when S4 4.0.0 arrived, I accidentally upgraded using my normal "git pull; ./configure; make; make install" procedure and instead of getting 4.0 I got 4.1pre. I hastily installed the 4.0.0 tarball but I think I've ended up with a broken schema because of it. It's been clunking along okay nontheless with the oddities just needing a little manual intervention now and again but last night I decided to install the 4.1.2 tarball. I wanted to do an "upgradeprovision --full" as I've been missing the SFU schema and I need to retain some UID consistency. My tes...

Are UPS shutdown commands automatically sent?
Roger, So I'm pursuing the strategy of issuing the "upsdrvctl shutdown" command script when the OS (Porteus, in this case) is shutting down. I so far can't get it to do it, but I'm sure I'll overcome it, but I realized something else might be a problem. Won't that script execute every time Linux is shutting down, including rebooting? So, if I choose to reboot my

This adds complexity, and in a critical system component simplicity is a virtue. I then turn the wall power back on. > Looking over UPS documentation and various helps, it seems most people > would expect their UPS to turn the load off and then back on, even if it > has wall power the entire time. reboot of nut managment node resets Tripplite SMX1000LCD
...utdown part of the reboot is issuing a "delayed UPS shutdown". You should be able to see this in the log. The UPS will then turn off it's power outlets say 20 seconds later when the RPi4 has already restarted. Ways to avoid this: 1. Remove wall power and wait to hear the "clunk" of the relay. Then restore wall power. 2. Stop nut.server before rebooting the RPi4. This could happen in a script. Roger

...he box's BIOS has been set to "power up on AC return". (The words may change, it depends on the BIOS.) The problem may be that the box is turned off without a command to the UPS to later turn off the power outlets. When the power outlets are turned off, you should hear the "clunk" of the relays. Roger

Can't get CyberPower UPS to work with Raspberry Pi 4
...quot; (with a driver that works 100% as expected with that UPS) you'd want to change a R/W variable, which is separate from the list of instant commands. (There is another "shutdown delay" - the time between when NUT signals the UPS to turn off, and when the relay actually goes "clunk". That would be "ups.delay.shutdown", but from the context, it sounds like you are concerned about lengthening the time between when the power fails and when the UPS says "the battery is low". A USB HID UPS typically measures it the other way: the battery is low (LB flag is...
