Authentication problem with samba 2.2.5

Both are very similar in setup so am surprised when I can access the shares
for superior, but not chub. The Unix permissions seem fine. The log for
chub shows:

The samba server is shown in the network neighborhood. When security is set
to domain users are prompted for the password that does not happen if
security is set to server.

samba authentication not auth'ing
...omain, but cannot browse into the shares, as
it constantly asks for a password, and refuses to accept any including root
and NTamdin accounts. Anybody have any ideas error logs and smb.conf are below.

joining a NT domain
I have 2.0.7 Samba for Solaris and
I tried to join an NT domain but got the following:

problem configuring smbd for domain authentication
...dows 2000 machine (which is also a member of the domain AD), and try
to mount \\mysambaserver\acls as a user who is already authenticated in the AD domain, it fails
(the windows end seems to hang and *eventually* prompts me for another username password) and
I see the following in my samba logs:

Winbind problem when heavy loaded ...
...ometimes I couldn't get user list
from PDC ( a Win2k server), but it come up again soon , say 5 seconds.
I had thought it is PDC's problem, but it seems PDC is fine. Are there
any other reasons will cause that?

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED??
...ed perfect until I changed the hostname today. I found that I couldn't
chage the machine password if hostname length is 15. The precedure I
do is
1. stop samba
2. change hostname to "abcde1234567890"
3. run smbpasswd -j DOM -r DomControl, then I get the following error
message.

Problem with samba 2.2.3a configured to use domain security

try and get Win2k clients to be able to access the shares on the UNIX system
hosting samba.
When I try and access any of the shares on samba (it doesn't matter who the
client is) I get the following messages produced in the log file:

samba 2.0.6 breaks domain validation (for me)
...domain. But that interpretation doesn't seem to be correct and the message that really worries me is this: "auth2
challenge failed".
Can someone advise me in what to try/where to look next?

Samba on NT domain
I'm having a little trouble adding my linux machine to my Windows NT
domain... anyone know how to resolve this issue:
