[Samba] Problem with samba 2.2.3a configured to use domain security
I am having a problem with getting samba 2.2.3a to work with our current set up. I used to have samba 2.0.7 working perfectly, but decided to upgrade to try and get Win2k clients to be able to access the shares on the UNIX system hosting samba. When I try and access any of the shares on samba (it doesn't matter who the client is) I get the following messages produced in the log file: [2002/03/13 10:35:14, 0] rpc_client/cli_netlogon.c:cli_net_auth2(157) cli_net_auth2: Error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED [2002/03/13 10:35:14, 0] rpc_client/cli_login.c:cli_nt_setup_creds(74) cli_nt_setup_creds:auth2 challenge failed [2002/03/13 10:35:14, 0] smbd/password.c: connect_to_domain_password_server(1335) connect_to_domain_password_server: unable to setup the PDC crenditial to machine X. Error was NT_STATUS_OK. [2002/03/13 10:35:14, 0] smbd/password.c: domain_client_validate (1554) domain_client_validate: Domain password server not available. Apparantly something has gone wrong between the PDC and samba. I have removed the UNIX machine from the domain and re-added it back per the instructions that come with the samba distribution. I compiled the binaries myself with the default options. What changed from 2.07 to 2.2.3a to kill the security=domain setting from working? Is there some configuration switch that I should have turned on when compiling the binaries? Is this a bug or a stupid user configuration problem? Todd Chandler
