Asterisk on ClarkConnect
Has anyone tried installing Asterisk on ClarkConnect? It looks like ClarkConnect runs on RHEL so it should work if they haven't modified it too much. It appears that ClarkConnect is working on adding Asterisk and integrating it into their GUI but until then I'd also be interested in trying to use FreePBX. Anyone?

[Fwd: Re: School Server Setup]
Hi Harry, Has much has I like Centos and RH for big sophisticated setup, it would not be my first choice for your project. For 25 systems and if you want this done without spending to much time, Clarkconnect would by my first choice for server side OS (#2 would be SME). For me CentOS x64 is #1 choice for enterprise (+500 users with Terabytes of storage ) sever solution. If you have little experience configuring a RH server, get ready to spend lots of time getting everything going as nicely as Clarkc...

RE: School Server Setup-Summary
...and all the client machines as thin clients c) Use CentOS as Server and Ubuntu as client OS d) Use RHEL on the server ( NO RHEL NO CENTOS) e) Use SME from Contribs.org for server and ubuntu for clients f) Use Scientific Linux (binary compatibility with RHEL) for Server g) Clarkconnect for server side and Ubuntu or FC on client side h) Use IPcop as firewall Although ClarkConnect, SME are based on RHEL, I have decided not to go on that path because of lack of large community behind them + Vendor Lock-In With K12ltsp- sounds very nice but I don't have a large and...

Fw: app_swift issue
Hi Shakeel, I had the same problem building app_swift (1.6..) myself and searched the web far-and-wide for a solution. I eventually contacted Darren Sessions -- who was maintaining that plug-in -- about a month ago. He was involved in another project and said he might be able get to it after a few weeks. But, since then, his website http://www.darrensessions.com/ has gone out of comission. I

Trouble with NUT?
I'm a linux newbie and having some trouble with NUT, can anyone assist? I've read the FAQ and various articles online by Peter Sellinger and others thoroughly. OS is ClarkConnect 4.2, which is based on CentOS4/RHEL 4. UPS is an APC SmartUPS 1500 (USB). Correct driver is believed to be usbhid-ups. No RPM for my OS was available past 2.0, so I built from source using NUT 2.2. I think this all worked OK, did not see anything suspicious. (But again, compiling on linux is al...

proxy server - ipcop vs CentOS
I have purchased a used Compaq DL360 which I was going to use as a proxy server. Presently, we are using a cheap box with ipcop which is working fine but it didn't have much RAM (64MB), etc. This new box we will want to run squid and perhaps dansguardian for filtering (this is a non-profit company) and I'm wondering if I should just put ipcop on it or would it be smarter/better to install

looking for alternative to SME & Clark Connect
Hi all, I'm looking for a (preferably free) alternative to SME / Clark Connect. I basically need the following: - firewall - nat - VPN - bandwidth limiting / monitoring - email (SMTP / POP3 / IMAP) & groupware - file & printer sharing - RAID support - if possible fail-over / high availability support. I need to support about 15 - 30 (some part time) students, so I would like to keep

Xen bridge and NIC via PCI Pass through
Hi, I am trying to virtualize a few boxes including my Clarkconnect firewall. My plan is to use the PCI pass through to pass the WAN interface to CC running on DomU. Since my ISP provides me with two IPs I would like to add another virtual server bridged to the NIC running on CC. Can anyone offer some advice on how I can do this? I don''t want the bridge...

FOUND SOLUTION and question: Cannot access shares after joining Samba to AD 2000 domain
We had a Samba Version 3.0.23c-4 workgroup server on clarkconnect 4.1 (had to hunt for kbr5-workstation!) with a smbpasswd back-end that was accessed from machines joined into an Active Directory Windows 2000 domain. We switched the Samba server to be a domain member. We have done this before so thought we knew all the could happen had already happened and took...

Migrating an NT4 domain to a Samba PDC - How to limit users access to only certain machines?
...n. If someone tried logging into my workstation with their account (even though their account is a valid domain account) - I need it to reject the attempt. Is there an easy way to do this? Is it even possible? Q: rsync Windows --backup parameters
...ion 2.6.2, but the "configure"command did never succeed :(, some problems about not finding a valid cc or gcc. (/lib/libgcc_s-3.2.2-20030225.so.1) even if it is not the newst gcc lib, it should work no ? I supose I installed the latest stable linux version (2.40.xx) with a clarkconnect 2.2 (March/April 2004) (Redhat 9 ?) so I do not understand the install problem. So finaly I found the latest ".rpm" compiled package but it's only a 2.5.6 version. :( - on Windows platform, I did find a light version of rsync composed only of (rsync.exe, ssh.exe, rsetup....
