Door buzzer.

anyone is using?
They have a pizza box server as their asterisk server with a T1 card. No
more slots, so if I want to use the existing infrastructure I will need
to build a second server with an FXO port. Kinda stupid having a second
server just to open the door.
Any suggestions?

Can you provide any insight?

Getting htmlParse to work with Hebrew? (on windows)
Hello dear R-help mailing list.
Looks like the same issue in Russian:
library(RCurl)
library(XML)
u = " http://www.cian.ru/cat.php?deal_type=2&obl_id=1&room1=1"
a = getURL(u)
a # Here - the Russian is fine.
a2 <- htmlParse(a)

None of these seem to fix it:
htmlParse(a, encoding = "windows-1251")
htmlParse(a, encoding = "CP1251")

Nortel Phones.
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone is using the Nortel 2001 2002 or 2004 phones on
their asterisk implementation. My local dealer says they are not
compatible with any open source implementations. Is there a phone
compatibility list somewhere?
Cheers

Looking for assistance
We have about 5 servers spread out throughout the country: 2 Centos 4.4,
1 Red Hat and 2 windows machines- looking for some good ideas for a
back-up solution. Our servers hold a lot of data, but only a small
portion of it is crucial on any given day. That crucial portion is
always changing (for example, this week the crucial files all relate to
November- current and previous projects, and the next

Receptionist phone
Newbie question alert!
I was just wondering how a receptionist phone would work with Asterisk.
(I've never had a real job, so I've never really looked at different
phone systems).
I have looked around on the internet and seen that you can purchase 24
line phones; how does that get connected?
What kind of wiring goes to the reception phone?
How would I go about adding one of these to an

Asterisk on FreeBSD + Passive ISDN BRI
...d, is this correct & is it likely to change soon?
Secondly, if this is likely to be the way for a while, what is the
lease expensive card that will work with FreeBSD?
Also, can I use DID (Direct Inward Dialling) on FreeBSD?
Thanks for all your help to date.
Regards,
Cian Hughes

cisco poe
I know this is on the wiki, I just want to confirm so I don't blow up my
cisco phones. I've got several cisco 7940's all running using cisco
power cubes. However, my boss wants me to switch just a few over to
poe, but doesn't want to fork out the dough for a nice cisco poe switch,
or anybody else's poe switch for that matter.
So my question is, what is the '99.999%
