dnf-makecache.service failing every few days and dnf-automatic.service samba sssd issues (again).
...pacakges in CentOS Stream release 8?
I have about +10 systems sending me alerts everyday that
dnf-automatic.service is failing because of the freeipa dependency
issues. Since freeipa is one of the security elements I would like to
give people an estimate on when these issues are resolved?
How can I keep track of the work that is been done as well?
Is there a package tracker to be followed for this? URLs?
I asked this question on the centos-devel list weeks ago, but have not
received any feedback. The issues is bothering me a lot as it is an
security issue that stays unresolved.

Conceptual Design Question
...th a solution but I
wanted to run it by you gurus to ensure that I am not recompiling the
wheel here.
Basically the domain rule is:
A user should be able to access a category and the assets within the
category only if they have the appropriate permissions. There are
assets within a category, which can have different access rights
meaning having access to the root category does not mean that you have
access to all the files within.
Here is what I have laid out as a possible structure:
User
A user is a person who has access to the site. The content a user can
see, and the effects they have over...

Not sure how to use aggregate, colSums, by
...e overall sum /Totals for all the countries for the two
columns (y,f). The lay outs for the two tables I'm looking for are also
shown below in case my description isn't completely clear
I would also like to be able to use the Totals of y and f for the two tables
in other calculations.
I can get the two sets of totals with the following commands but not the
sums by country.
colSums(test[test$e2=="std", c(3,4)])
colSums(test[test$e2=="con", c(3,4)])
I know there's an easy way to do this with a combination of colSums, by,
aggregate but I can't seem to get it...

How much test data to use in specs
I''m not sure how much test data I should be using in my specs. I''m
writing specs for the Property model in my Rails app. Its "address"
attribute is going to be validated with this regex:
/\A\d+[a-z]? [-'', a-z]{2,128}\Z/i
At the moment, my plan is to spec out the following possibilities. A
property is invalid if its address:
1) doesn''t begin with

NFS between domU and dom0 causes the virtual network to freeze! Please help
Hello,
I''m a new user to Xen, so please be patient with me.
I just installed a dom0 on my root-server and I also got a xenU to work with
routed network. I can access from both sides and I can access both machines
from any other computer too.
So far - so good.. (gentoo on both ends by the way)
My plan was to use a mounted NFS-directory from dom0 on my domU to place /home
(and later other directories too) physically on the dom0 (for easy backups

An even more strange win95 browsing problem
Hi,
I posted a few messages a couple of days ago about a strange windows 95
browsing problem with samba-2.0.2, 1.9.17p4 that none of our Windows 95
users can see our Linux shares, but all NT users can see the Linux
shares, and all 95 and NT users can see AIX shares. All of our Linux
and AIX use the save version of samba (I tested 2.0.2 and 1.9.17p4).
Yesterday, I tried to down grade the version -- installed samba-1.9.16p9
on all of AIX and Linux syste...

help with samba share: one write, many read

directories from. Now,
I'd like to set up a share that contains a file that only I can write

I only seem to be able to do one or the other. If I can write to it,
no one can read it. If everyone
can read it, I can't write to it.

regarding ssl certificates
Excuse dopey question.
I'm not exactly clear about certificates.
Apache2 default install has this snake oil certificate
Can make a new one for apache
Can make one for dovecot
Can make one for ssl
Is there supposed to be the one (self signed ) certificate pair in one
place for the machine that each process hands out ?
Can they be moved to another machine ?
