Everyone wants a RoR framework
It seems like everyone now has a RoR type framework:
Perl:
http://dev.catalyst.perl.org/
PHP:
http://cakephp.org/
Python:
http://www.django.com
ASP.NET:
http://www.castleproject.org/index.php/Main_Page
etc., etc.
Has a revolution begun with the birth of these "Web 2.0" frameworks?
Its going to be interesting when the tech media begins its mass hype
like it did SOAP, XML, etc. a

The Wine project needs YOU to help triage bugs!
Wine is approaching the 0.9 release, and
it's time to start fixing all the lingering
bug reports in Wine's bug database.
You can help the Wine developers do
this even if you're not a developer yourself!
All you have to do is spend an hour trying to
reproduce a bug that somebody else filed.
If you're interested, please go to
http://kegel.com/wine/qa
for step-by-step instructions.

Air Conditioning - ON!
...like.
4. Bringing up other distros that are ahead of CentOS. This just an
attempt at indirect pressure on the CentOS team to get a competition
going. Only the team gets to choose their competition. CentOS 'rates'
how it rates and that is up to the CentOS team and their decisions. Some
cheerleading might be welcomed, as long as it doesn't become an "I cheer
for you therefore you owe me".
5. MOST IMPORTANT---- discussing this right now is the wrong time. The
CentOS team needs to be focused on the builds. They need to 'feel good'.
They do not need these distractions, c...

A rant about parameters
Guys,
I''ve been chasing a problem with country_select for the past few hours
now. My intention was pretty simple...use the following line in a form:
<p><label for="country_region">Country</label>
<%= f.country_select :country_region, "United States" %></p>
However, for the life of me, I couldn''t get it to work. I kept getting

thanks for your input, fletcher
hey fletcher, thanks for your input here. :+)
and -- quite obviously -- your program will be
whatever it is that _you_ think that it should be.
of course.
the thing is, i am certain that i have been clear
that the feature that i believe will be "killer" is
on-the-fly formatted display. that's my stand.
and i'd say my reasoning has been equally clear,
namely that this

puppetd can set more than one server address
hi,all
I want set up a puppet HA structure. but if the puppetd can
set more than one server address ,the work will be simple :D
if one puppetmaster have error, the client can auto try the

thing, but not so good. so I want know the puppetd can direct set in
the configure file ? if not, will be add this option?

So, this search thing...
I am using ferret right now, and it works great for all my regular text
documents/information. My problem arises when I want to index/search all of
our assets (mostly pdf files). Currently, there is no way to READ pdfs from
Ruby. Because of this I have to resort to using Java to read the PDF''s and
then Lucene to index them. My problem here is a couple things.
One, to index a asset I have

FXS or VOIP
Hi
I am setting up a phone system for a small office.
The office will have 5-8 phones and a fax line.
There are 4 hunt lines coming into the office.
We have made no hardware purchase yet.
Being an asterisk newbie, before I suscribed to this list I just
assumed that I would buy voip phones and connect
all the phones to a private ethernet network.
However, I see many people inquiring about FXS

On the total nondisclosure of the 8/9/06 security vulnerability
Dear Rails team,
The handling of the recent vulnerability in Rails has proven somewhat
problematic for us. We have recently adopted Rails as our web platform
of choice; previously, we used J2EE. We love Rails. We hate J2EE. We
don''t want to go back. It took a lot of effort and convincing to get the
management teams of our various projects to sign off on the use of
Rails. The
