T38 fax solution with Asterisk possible?
Hi, I am looking for a very low cost way of receiving and sending T38 fax reliably. Is there any possible solution using Asterisk as the PSTN SIP gateay and Digium E1/T1 card? Is there other open source package that can help to accomplish this purpose? Regards, Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Connecting GSM Phone to Asterisk Box
Hi All, I have a telephony project for which I need to build a prototype to demo for management. The prototype must work on a GSM phone network. In the demo system, a call from GSM phone comes into the demo box. The demo box runs CallWeaver. Callweaver picks up the GSM call, answers it and plays a sould file, then dials out to a second GSM phone somewhere and connects them so they talk. My question are these: 1. Is this a job for Callweaver/asterisk system? 2. if not, what package out there would handle this? I was reading the A...

Callweaver/Asterisk 'outgoing' spool
c/c'd to the Asterisk list as this is probably relevant to Asterisk as well. My detailed study of the operation of the 'outgoing' directory reveals that TXFax() does not delete an expired fax batch file (In the 'outgoing' directory) until after the end of the dial plan execution. Is there a way to get it to delete any expired fax batch file before the end of the dial plan

Distributed FAX - How to best complement asterisk ?
...Facts: a) FAX over VoIP will not work, so installing ATAs on the remote locations and bridging them with the PSTN FAXes is out of the plan. b) T.38 is the answer to FoIP c) asterisk 1.2 does not support T.38 d) asterisk 1.4 only does T.38 passthrough, not good enough e) CallWeaver seems to support T.38 gatewaying, although I'd rather move on with asterisk so as to leverage current experience and knowledge and to keep installed base with the same software. Possible solutions point to complementing asterisk installations with T.38 capable equipment. (of...

MINNESOTA: TwinCities Asterisk Users Group Meeting - This Saturday Sep 8th, 2007 (Only hours away)
...: 09/08/2007 - 11:30am Hello all Twin Cities Asterisk Users, It's time once again to have another meeting. I've not had much time to prepare, but I'd really like to review and install with the group at our next meeting the software package formerly known as OpenPBX and now known as CallWeaver. This release now claims to have full t.38 support for faxing over IP. This has got to be one of the biggest issue facing professional installations at many business locations. OpenPBX and now CallWeaver are software forks of Asterisk. Lets think of the meeting as visiting your best friends e...

T.38 Faxing and Asterisk
I understand that Asterisk 1.4 should support T.38 pass-through, but I need Asterisk (or something on the Asterisk box) to act as a T.38 endpoint. Judging from the unclaimed $12,000USD bounty, it doesn't appear that Asterisk itself can do this. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+T.38+Bounty Does anyone have any experience with this, or are able to point to an example of this working?

Linksys/Sipura SPA-3201 FXO/FSA with Asterisk
All, I am looking at a little support on this, as I haven't found it on google yet. I have had this work on Callweaver, but am moving to Asterisk for a variety of reasons. My dial plans, and everything else transferred perfectly, though I am not sure they are 'correct' for Asterisk 1.6.1, with simple things like SIP users outlined in the sip.conf file, not in the users file, and my dialplan syntaxes d...

SIP call interrupted after 64 seconds
Hi, some months ago, I had the problem with an asterisk-1.4.x- Version, that some calls (but not all) were interrupted 64 seconds after connect (a call limit of 86400 seconds was installed using the S()-parameter). It was just a test machine, and later, I switched to callweaver, and the problem had gone. Thus, I never investigated this problem. Now, I upgraded a machine for production use to asterisk-1.4.8, and do encounter the same problem. I have other asterisk machines running, using the same dialplan, without this problem. Did anyone else observe this strange beh...

spandsp as T.38 termination?
It seems that Spandsp has everything in it (when you include rxfax and txfax) to be a T.38 termination when used with Asterisk 1.4? And if so, what version of Spandsp? What version of IAXModem (so I don't have to also deal with T38Modem)?

Asterisk
Is an RPM for Asterisk (the PBX system) available for CentOS 5? It looks like RPMforge is supposed to have one, as I can see dependent packages like asterisk-sounds, but the base package seems to be absent from the repository.

res_fax T.38 Gateway with SpanDSP - Force ReINVITE?

replace astdb with a cluster-capable sql database engine
...er-master MySQL 2-server cluster solution). Asterisk has brought up Realtime which is very powerful but, correct me if I'm wrong, it still requires astdb internally. In other words, if I call Set(DB) in the dialplan then it will always be using astdb regardless of realtime. Some projects like Callweaver have forked from Asterisk 1.2 and replaced astdb with sqlite. I'm wondering if Asterisk has plans to allow the user to choose the astdb backend: standard db1, sqlite, MySQL (which I would use with nbcluster for my clustering purposes), Postgresql with Slony-II, PGcluster, etc. Or is it alre...
