caller_id vs cid_number
Are these both caller id presentation related? If not, which on is currently being used. Finally, is there a "latest" sip_peers table structure to use with 1.8, without the obvious hacks, deprecations. and redundancies? Thanks in Advance, Nick.

SHELL() function Asterisk 13 - can only accept one paramter in string?
Hi all This is a followup on my post "Asterisk 13 - system() dialplan app cannot call bash scripts" from yesterday I've given up trying to use system() to call BASH scripts with parameters from Asterisk 13. Turned out under Asterisk 13.22.0 System() DOES work, but only if you do NOT attempt to pass any parameters to the called script. This works, and reliably calls the script:

Incoming Zap channels not behaving as expected. Rejecting call on channel....
I have been messing with Asterisk for months and got it working well with a SIP connection, but this is the first time I have set it up with TDM cards. The cards are configured, working and the T-1's (configured for PRI/DCHAN) and I can even call into it if I add the DNIS as an extension to default context. That is the oddity. I can find nowhere in the documentation that says anything about

Destination number
Hello: I need to prepare some detailed stats from asterisk, and I'm asked to show data I don't know how to obtain it: It's the 'final' number (don't know what's its name) In the stats I have to show the caller_id (I have it), the called_id (I have it) and the final number that actually accepted the call. In extensions.conf file, I try to pass the call to several

Problems with MACRO_EXTEN variable
Hei! I have a little problem with the subject. I use Asterisk CVS-HEAD-09/06/04-12:42:56 as a production *, but I do tests with a newer version Asterisk CVS-HEAD-11/18/04-10:01:32. Ok the problem is: in extension.conf I use macro for redirection, found on wiki pages: [macro-stdexten] ; ; Standard extension macro (with call forwarding): ; ${ARG1} - Extension(we could have used ${MACRO_EXTEN}

A question about Caller ID
Hi all, Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I just want to know a thing here. What system is used for sending out the caller's number in the US? Here in Sweden we use DTMF to send the number out. I just need to know what is used in the US since I don't think I will be able to use an American caller ID device over here. Many thanks for any info, Christian

Asterisk/Panasonic PRI Integration
Hi Guys, I'm looking for a light on the next problem integrating an Asterisk server with a Panasonic PBX using a PRI. The follow config has been working for two weeks and works almost fine, except for some little problems... 1- PSTN provides the E1/PRI (EuroISDN) 2- Asterisk receives the PRI 3- Asterisk provides a second PRI to Panasonic 4- Panasonic receives the asterisk PRI People can

Voice Modem + Soundcard Driver
The problem with using Voice Modems is that they fall into two categories: 1) Hardware Modems which only have half-duplex transmission of voice 2) Soft/Win/Lin modems which are proprietry and don't have asterisk drivers Please shoot down this recipe before I waste any time trying to acheive it: Rationalisation: ---------------- In Australia and I assume other places, there is no

Asterisk retains DTMF Control Even when an External IVR System is dialed
I am using Asterisk 1.06 Stable. When I dial my Mobile Number to check Voice Mail or my Bank Account Phone Access Number, the IVR System on the other end asks me to enter *2378 to transfer to an attendant. But When I press *2378, Asterisk tells me that it cannot transfer the calls and gives an error on CLI saying Extension '' does not exist in the dial plan. What is the trick to make

SIP Gerenal settings conufsion
I have a little confusion about the general settings (other than the register values) in the SIP General area. I understand that for examle in a SIP context like [FWD] or [BROADVOICE] the entries in those areas are ths settings that take effect in any communication woth FWD and/or BROADVOICE. However, I'm confused as to the purpose of the "general" settings -- to what or which
