arris tm502g cablemodem FXS ports and zaptel 1.4.8
Hi there,
I have a cablemodem, ARRIS brand, model tm502G. It has two FXS ports.
I was wondering if anyone has details about the correct signalling of
these FXS ports when connected to original X100p.
Tests:
fxsks on the zapata.conf and zaptel.conf files. From my cellphone I
call the ARRIS, it starts ringing but the zap channel sees no call
coming in.

IProute2 and netfilter interactions
I am trying to build a firewall and from my reading of the list archives and
other places, I''m worried about unintended interactions between iptables and
iproute2. Here is my situation
I have an internal network on eth0 and two separate dmzs on eth1 and eth2
respectively (a wireless network and a kiosk). On the outbound side, I have a
cablemodem provider and a dsl provider. What I

Samba over IPX/NetBeui
Hello:
Is it possible to run SAMBA over IPX/NetBeui? (I will thank any suggestion)
I hava an small LAN of 3 computers, connected to the Internet through a Cable-modem with DHCP (the cablemodem and the computers are all connected to a hub). The CableModem assigns every computer a random public IP adress, but usually from diferent range (ie: 212.78.x.x, 62.57.x.x, etc), so I cannot get SAMBA or

A strong case for IPX support in Samba and smbfs
I would benefit from IPX support in both Samba and smbfs.
I subscribe to Road Runner, a cablemodem service run by Time Warner
Cable. The cablemodem hooks up to an ethernet hub. The ethernet hub is
hooked to three computers. One of those computers runs Windows 98. The
other two can dual boot between Windows 98 and Linux. TCP/IP works
perfectly on all the computers, in both Win98 and Linux

Icecast relay as a source to another icecast?
I have a situation where I'd like to be able to have icecast reach out to
another icecast server as a client. Is this possible with relaying? From
what I read relaying and master relaying both have the server reach out to
another server.
The reason is this.
I have a hardware encoder (Telos audioactive) sitting on a cablemodem.
I have a remote provider (streamcheap or something) set to

Issues with dhclient support in 4.2.8
While troubleshooting my MultiISP box, I suspect I might have found
either a bug or an incompatibility with CentOS 5.2.
In prog.header (function detect_dynamic_gateway), Shorewall tries to look for:
/var/lib/dhcp/dhclient-${1}.lease
However (at least under CentOS 5 - unknown about other OSes), this should be:
/var/lib/dhclient/dhclient-${1}.leases
(different path, and "leases"

Sending and receiving
Hi all.
Here''s the situation
Linux box with eth0 connected to LAN, and eth1 connected to internet via
cablemodem.
Connected to the lan are some voip devices, ive configured htb in eth1 to
save some bandwith for the voip devices. Now i have another issue, at some
hours of the days, some servers in the lan downloads data from other servers
in internet and they use all bandwith available.

samba and dhcp problem
Hello,
Can someone please help me out with the following. I have
installed Samba for FreeBSD. It runs and at *times* runs great. But
here is the big problem. Well the problem involves the ISP I am
connected to, I think.
I am connected to the Internet via cablemodem. The cable co.
uses a dhcp server. From time to time the IP's change. Today I
was lucky as all my IP's were in the

I declare ices stable
What's the trick. My server will hardly serve 4 people without
skipping and eventually dropping the connection. I am running from a
cable modem to a T1 network! Is there a trick.
I set the default_bitrate everywhere from 24k to 128k with varying
degree's of shittiness. I am using the latest sources from both the
project websites. I would really like to get it running. The

I just installed wondershapper 1.1a on my ipcop firewall box. I have
roadrunner cable with a ftp server setup. My download speed is 2mbit (I get
225 KBytes) and my upload is 384kbit (I send at 43 KBytes).
What should the settings in wshaper?
I can ping yahoo.com at 90msec with little traffic.....and at around 220msec
with full upload traffic.

Custom CentOS5 DVD
Hello,
Does anyone have an up-to-date page describing, step by step, how to make a
customized CentOS5 DVD?
I noticed that CentOS5 already comes with ~240MB of updates. So for starters,
I'd like to create a new DVD with all the current updates. (And I have other
custom scripts I need to install on top of that).
I've googled around and tried various suggestions on the net:

Load Balancing
Hi.
I´m making an script for load balancing of two
cablemodems internet connections toward my LAN.
The problem is that when I try to ''equalize'' the
the two internet connections with the weight=1 it
doesn´t work. On the other hand, if I put 5 and 5
it works, but not at 100%, it does intermittlently,
some times works and others don´t.

akamai problem behind linux router
Hello,
This is not really a shorewall problem. But just wanted to check if this
problem rang a bell with any of you.
I have a linux router with slackware 9.1, and kernel 2.4.27
Everyting works ok except for access to web sites that use akamai from
behind the router.
>From the router machine itself I can access those sites without problems.
But machines behind nat, take forever to access
