Hey friends, I am using FC3 and Centos 4.0 at my home. I have one CD/DVD burner on Centos4.0 and no CD/DVD burner on FC3 machine. I am looking for a free client & server or cross network CD/DVD burning software something like NeroNet available on Windows. Means on the one workstation(FC3) the client software for CD/DVD burning will be installed, through this client software the data to be burned will be passed to the server software for CD/DVD burning installed on the other workstation(Centos4.0)...

Can you do this? I have not found the options to get this to happen. So far I have seen how to read the Audio CD and make a directory of WAV files with a control file for later burning to CD, but I want an iso image that I can archive and burn audio CDs to use as they get used up.

...ws via smb-link becuase I didn't manage to do this task from FreeBSD console due to 2GB/4GB filesize restrictions (growisofs). I'm using freeware CDBurnerXP to burn my backups (ISO9660/UDF/Joliet), and they mount without problems on my FreeBSD BOX, files are fully readable too. However, burning gigabytes of data via slow (about 3.5MB/s) SMB network is just annoing. Is there *any* way to burn DVDs with files>4GB from FreeBSD console? cheers! -- Bartosz Stec

Hi, I am running CentOS 5.2. I tried to burn rmvb video files to DVD+R disk using Nautilus 2.16.2, the files were burned to the disk, but could not play it back with errors "Unkown file format". 'assign' does not give a warning if 'x' has length greater than 1 -- it just uses the first element: assign(c('a1', 'a2'), 1:2) One way of thinking about this is that people using 'assign' get what they deserve.
