MOre on buring ISOs
So right now I have installed k3b on this notebook. I am using my Storix
DVD/CDRW usb drive. I can read cds with it.
Cannot burn CDs. First k3b suggests slowing down (from 8x to 4x). Then
use TAO. Then it gave up.
So I try cdrecord directly. -checkdrive finds some interesting things.
Got to close the drive manually; cdrecord says it can't. then try a
cdrecord -v dev=dev/scd0 sample.iso

Cisco 7941 localized menus with SIP firmware
Hi,
Has anyone met any success, installing localized (ie non-english) menus
within SIP firmware enabled Cisco 7941 ?
Those phones seem to be trying to download localized menus from Cisco Call
Manager but as they are managed by an Asterisk server, I'm looking for a
workaround.
Any advice ?

Hi,
I am currently working on C5505 USB stick
http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdx5505ezdsp.html to sample
input voice and encode it. For compiling and buring usual programs, I am
using CCStudio 4.0.
For encoding voice samples, I am using Speex codec binary

Hi Randy,
Thanks for reply. I have one question though.
While compiling the speex (downloaded from
http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/speex/speex-1.2rc1.tar.gz), I gave
./configure
-enable-ti-c55x option and then built the library through make and make
install using cygwin. In this case, I get this error "error: member "bits.o"

Centos 7: Notification of available updates in KDE?
Hi,
I recently upgraded from CentOS 5 to 7. I have been running KDE. In
version 5, if there was a pending update, an icon would appear in the
panel, notifying about the update.
There is no such icon in CentOS 7 - KDE 4.
Is there a way to get this very convenient function?
Thanks

CentOS Wiki How TOs
All of these are negotiable in doing. I would like you alls
opinions on these topics. I suspect links to them can be
put here: "http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/". In the correct
section.
What do you all think the biggest concern with new users are?
I've had a few comments so far from about 3 people. I would
like some more ideas on the subject.

Oh my.
The c:/Program Files/Speex/libspeex.lib file is a Windows/x86 library
file. The code within this files is not C55x binary but x86 binary.
Further, the format of a Windows/x86 library file is different from that
produced by the C55x code generation tools' archive utility, and that is
what the linker is complaining about.
As far as I know, there is no pre-developed C55x speex library,

Vijay,
I used Code Composer Studio 3.x to directly build everything. There could certainly be issues with the ./configure, make, make install process. There are .pjt files supplied to build in the CCS simulator, so I suggest that you try that. The c55x option is just a compile switch, which deals with the fact that this platform has a 16-bit "byte", among other things.

tftp file size limit: pxelinux.0 vs. syslinux.efi
Hello,
I am pxebooting a large linux kernel (with embedded initramfs) that is around
250 MB in size.
When booting a board in legacy BIOS mode, the pxelinux.0 executable is
transferred to the board and takes over, from where loading and booting this
large kernel works as expected. Actually, better than expected, as no tftp
file size limit is incurred.
If I change the BIOS settings to UEFI mode,

Hello, I have noted below problems that we can take care of, and those
that aren't our problem, never were, never will be, impossible to be our
problem, (you get the picture), because they are PEBKAC errors :)
For all of those that don't know: PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between

Replacing SW RAID-1 with SSD RAID-1
Hi,
I want to replace my hard drives based SW RAID-1 with SSD's.
What would be the recommended procedure? Can I just remove one drive,
replace with SSD and rebuild, then repeat with the other drive?
Thanks
