Unexpected results using the oneway_test in the coin package
Dear fellow R users, Keywords: Kruskal-Wallis, Post-Hoc, pair-wise comparisons, Nemenyi-Damico-Wolfe-Dunn test, coin package, oneway_test I am using the "oneway_test" function in the R package "coin" and I am obtaining results which I cannot believe are accurate. I do not wish to waste anyone's time and so if the following problem is rather trivial, I apologize, however I

using reshape to do ANOVA mixed models
Hi, I just started with R and I found that there are many options to rearrange the data to do mixed models. I want to use the reshape function. I have 2 between subject variables and one within. I was able to change the data structure but still - the result of the aov functions are calculating everything as a within subject. the table looks like this: SerialNo breed treatment distance_1

used the described Class in a shared behavior
Is it possible to access the described class in a shared behavior? I''m trying to do something like this: describe "Siberian feline", :shared => true do described_class_instance_as :feline, :name => "fluffy", :breed => "Siberian" # or maybe before(:all) do @feline = described_class.new(:name => "fluffy", :breed =>

comparing GLM coefficients & repeatability
Many thanks for taking the time to read this! I am looking at the repeatability of behaviour between re-sighted individuals across discrete time periods (annual breeding seasons). My approach was to run a GLM (with a logit link - the data are proportional, presence v. absence of behaviour) for each breeding season. I included the re-sighted individuals as a factor (categorical variable) (i.e.

Package manager specs: Best of breed?
Hi Group, In order to come to grips with puppet I thought to start by using it to manage my laptop..... openSUSE 11.0. This distribution now uses zypper as its package manager. It seems that the patch, http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/show/1223 is awaiting some tests.... so that seems a good point to dive in and get familiar with Puppet :) Could someone indicate which of the package

Test fixture syntax
OK, I know I''m doing something bone-headed, but I can''t for the life of me figure it out. I''ve read the test fixtures Rdoc about eight dozen times, and it says (to me) that if I have a YAML fixture file, dogs.yml that looks like this: fido: id: 1 breed: Terrier fifi: id: 2 breed: Poodle Then I can include fixtures :dogs in my functional test, and

Best of Breed Modules?
Well, I''m getting deeper and deeper into Puppet and loving it! I''m at the point, now, that I need to start standardizing on modules and I''m wondering whether someone can share their experience. I''ve been on Puppet Forge and there are so many modules to choose from! How do you go about selecting? Speaking of: any recommendations for good nginx, Java, Tomcat

[Fwd: Re: subsetting]
Sorry that I was unclear. For an individual to qualify for my analysis I want both of the following two criteria to be fulfilled: First, I want to select measurement taken at a certain age: for the focal individual the year of measurement (year) should be the same as year.hatch Second, I want the focal individual to be born by a mother that reproduces for the first time. So the /parents /of

Lattice graph help
Hi all I hope you might help me with some aspects of producing a graph in lattice. There are three things I have struggling with and that is: 1. to separate the horizontal box rows from each other; 2. to change the colour of the horizontal and vertical strips to white; and 3. to place the axes labels on the left y axes and on the bottom x axes. I would really appreciate some help. I have put the

pairing data using combn with criteria
Dear All, I have a dataframe made up of individual beetles consisting of individual number, family number, mother's family number, father's family number, and sex of the beetle. I would like to pair up the individuals for breeding. I would, however, like to avoid breeding beetles of the same sex (obviously), the same family, and with the same mother's family or father's family,

boxplot of different colors
Hello, I am making a boxplot of 13 boxes. I tried to color the box using 13 colors but failed. Only red and brown were displayed. Green, blue, and grey disappeared. Please kindly advise modification after checking the code below. Thank you in advance. geo-replication
Hi Kotresh, I am expecting my hardware to show up next week. My plan is to run gluster version 3.12 on centos 7. Has the issue been fixed in version 3.12? geo-replication
Hi all, I am planning my new gluster system and tested things out in a bunch of virtual machines. I need a bit of help to understand how geo-replication behaves. I have a master gluster cluster replica 2 (in production I will use an arbiter and replicatied/distributed) and the geo cluster is distributed with 2 machines. (in production I will have the geo cluster distributed) Everything is up

Lattice graph strips and axes
Hi all I was wondering if it is possible to get rid of the horizontal strips and produce each barchart with a left y axes and lower x axes only. Also can you specify an exact size of graph ie 88mm wide with a font size of 'x'. library(lattice) library(latticeExtra) n=as.factor(c(1:5,1:5))

geo-replication
Hi again, I have been testing and reading up on other solutions and just wanted to check if my ideas are ok. I have been looking at dispersed volumes and wonder if there are any problems running replicated-distributed cluster on the master node and a dispersed-distributed cluster on the slave side of a geo-replication. Second thought, running disperesed on both sides, is that a problem (Master:
