voice -only broadcast
Hi I'm actually running an icecast server to broadcast voice . I'm not broadcasting music at all . Would it be better for me to use speex ? Is there an icecast-like broadcast server for speex ? Would there be a way to read the braodcast stream under windos and MacOs and Linux ? Questions and problems about relaying
...s/icecast-2.3.1/icecast2_relay.html I have tryed the two type of realy: the master-server relay doesn't work , beacuse on the slave there isn't the mountpoint of the master , I try to restart every server ,to statrt before the master and later the slave , all without result. The Single braodcast relay works very well. My ideas is another: There is a possiblity for an icecast server to be a client for another icecast server? Because my master server for some times will don't have static Ip , because I'm going to follow some artist and do a live streaming with this configuratio...

Php package for Microsoft-SQL -- integrated layer 2 + layer 3 name services
...t anyone's > laptop claim to be the company email server and get away with it. Which is why you need a _centralized_ layer 2 + layer 3 server to prevent this. If it is the centralized DNS and WINS, then all Windows and UNIX nodes trust it first and foremost, even if a rogue NetBIOS node is braodcasting. The logic of the server would not only not proxy such a node, but it would quickly report its MAC address as a "problem." -- Bryan J. Smith mailto:b.j.smith at ieee.org

ip neigh show and NUD_NOARP state - is it possible ?
...me tests with the loopback device , but could not find such a way to cause it to appear as NUD_NOARP. Also if I ping a (nonexisting) multicast address (like 224.0.0.0) I don''t see it in "ip neigh show" (but I see it in the routing cache). Could it be done ? (maybe with multicast/braodcast)? BTW, I see an example in the documentation which demonstrates NUD_NOARP on the loopback device, but this documentation is from quite a time ago. See: http://www.policyrouting.org/iproute2.doc.html#ss9.4.5 ... ... ip neigh ls dev lo lladdr 000000000000 nud noarp fe80200cfffe763f85 dev eth0 ll...

Samba on VPS in internet?
Hello all, as I am still struggling with my replicating Samba setup (haven´t yet tried Andrew´s last suggestion - thanks for your support anyway), I am wondering whether I can put a DC on a virtual private server I run anyway. I think the obvious approach would be to run a VPN and configure Samba to listen on the tun interface, but unfortunately my routers don´t run standard VPN protocols. Thus I

I finally got a virtual os up, now a few questions...
I wasn''t able to get a paravirtual os up. For some reason, during the install, after the message no ipv6 routers available, I would get prompted for stage2.img file. It would ask for an ftp server and the path. I tried several of the mirrors that fedora project listed and would still get the same problem. So I finally decided to make a virtual os so that I could install fedora 8 from

When someone helps you, at least let them know if the problem is resolved or not
I'll keep this brief because I don't want to come across like any more of an a$$ than I absolutely have to, especially since I know I've blown my stack before..... Gentlemen (and Ladies, if you're out there), If someone gives you advice on this list, and ESPECIALLY if they give you advice offlist, have the courtesy to (AT THE LEAST) to let them know when/if you get your question
