selinux policy remnant according to /bin/ls on CentOS 6.0 box
I installed CentOS 6.0 on 2 different x86_64 boxen. Both originally had selinux installed and enabled. I never touched selinux other than to remove as much of it as I could via rpm -e. As far as I can tell, here are the remaining packages that have something to do with it: # rpm -qa | grep -iE 'sel|pol' checkpolicy-2.0.22-1.el6.x86_64 libselinux-2.0.94-2.el6.x86_64

Samba and Network Neighborhood
Hi All, I turned my Debian box into a file server on my home network. What happened is now no boxen except the localhost shows up in Network Neighborhood on the Windows boxen. All shares work fine and if I search for the Linux server, I find it. Has anyone ever run into this and resolved it? Three days of Googling have left me with the same problem and a headache. Thanks.

Dead puppies (and Linux boxen) aren't much fun.
Fellow riders of the bleeding edge of ext3 technology, I've been playing with ext3 on my workstation. For the most part it has worked very well, but right now I have a non-functional system. I've got patches out the wazoo on this kernel - 2.2.18 + Alan's 2.2.19pre13 + ext3-0.0.6a + i2c-2.5.5 + lm_sensors-2.5.5 + udf-0.9.3. Here is the output I get: EXT3-fs: WARNING: recovery

QoS and IPSec...
Hi, I have what to me is an interesting issue. I am wanting to prioritize (QoS) traffic that will be passing through an IPSec (OpenS/WAN) VPN between two (identical) Linux routers. I know that I can apply the IPSec patches (1-4) to the kernel and IPTables (if they are not already applied by now) filter traffic before and after IPSec encapsulation. My problem is that I don''t know

Spinning mongrels and SIGUSR1

On 2 of our deployed clusters, we are getting the "spinning mongrel" problem. As the clusters are very low volume right now, it takes days to collect a spinner, making it
