i have run 'man hwclock' so many times that the a, c, h, k, l, m, n, o
keys have gray lettering and the rest are black. so i now have one

I suggest reading the man page for 'hwclock'. Namely, the --utc
option. If you don't tell your system that the BIOS is stored as UTC,
then it will assume it's

4.5 upgrades on production servers?
Anyone besides me totally throw (most) caution into the wind and yum update
any mission critical production 4.x boxen to 4.5 without any problems?

selinux policy remnant according to /bin/ls on CentOS 6.0 box
I installed CentOS 6.0 on 2 different x86_64 boxen. Both originally had selinux installed and enabled. I never touched selinux other than to remove as much of it as I could via rpm -e. As far as I can tell, here are the remaining packages that have something to do with it:
# rpm -qa | grep -iE 'sel|pol'

Samba and Network Neighborhood
Hi All,
I turned my Debian box into a file server on my home network. What
happened is now no boxen except the localhost shows up in Network
Neighborhood on the Windows boxen. All shares work fine and if I search
for the Linux server, I find it. Has anyone ever run into this and
resolved it? Three days of Googling have left me with the same problem
and a headache. Thanks.

Dead puppies (and Linux boxen) aren't much fun.
Fellow riders of the bleeding edge of ext3 technology,
I've been playing with ext3 on my workstation. For the most part it
has worked very well, but right now I have a non-functional system.
I've got patches out the wazoo on this kernel - 2.2.18 + Alan's
2.2.19pre13 + ext3-0.0.6a + i2c-2.5.5 + lm_sensors-2.5.5 + udf-0.9.3.
Here is the output I get:
EXT3-fs: WARNING: recovery

Firefox Flash Update = No Flash
None of my Centos 5 boxen can show flash since the update this morning.
Am I alone or do other people have this issue ??
Centos 7 boxes work properly. I haven't looked at RHEL 6 boxes yet.
Although I miss using flash on these boxes, it IS a great security
upgrade....

Hello, everyone -
I've been trying for two weeks now to get my print server operational under
Samba. After walking through the howtos and tweaking the configs per spec,
it just ain't working. Printing from a client machine sends, and then
nothing happens. No error messages or anything similar.
Printing from the server works fine, but

Spinning mongrels and SIGUSR1

mod_proxy_balancer + gem mongrel 0.3.13.3 / mongrel_cluster 0.2 +
memcached / gem memcache_client + gem rails 1.1.6 on debian boxen, and a
pgcluster backend.
On 2 of our deployed clusters, we are getting the "spinning mongrel"
problem. As the clusters are very low volume right now, it takes days to
collect a spinner, making it difficult to debug what the problem might be.

me they're using X and happy.
