gaussian error propagation
Dear list, I'm intending to use R (1.9.0 installed on my linux machine) for my applied experimental physics course, requiring it to do rather basic statistical things (like calculation of mean, std-deviation and some linear fitting). There is, though, a task for which I haven't found a solution for after some days of search: in experiments involving multiple (supposedly) independent

Following should have happened, If delete operation is performed gluster keeps file in .unlink directory if it has open fd. In this case since lazy umount is performed, ganesha server may still keep the fd's open by that client so gluster keeps the unlink

Hi, yes, I mounted the Gluster volume and deleted the files from the volume not the brick mount -t glusterfs hostname:volname /mnt cd /mnt/some/directory rm -rf * restart of nfs-ganesha is planned for tomorrow. I'll keep you posted BTW: nfs-ganesha is running on a separate server in standalone configuration Best Regards Bernhard 2017-07-14 10:43 GMT+02:00 Jiffin Tony Thottan <jthottan

dataframe subset
I have a dataframe with a column, say "x" consisting of values, each value appearing different times, e.g. x: 1,1,1,1,2,2,4,4,4,9,10,10,10,10,10 ... and a vector, including e.g.: y: 2,9,10,... I need a subset of the dataframe: all rows where x is equal to one of the values in y. Currently I use a loop for this, but because x and y are large this is very slow. Is there any idea how to

flatpak installation package?
Is there any chance for a distribution independent flatpak installation package for R ? See: http://flatpak.org Background: I recently bought an Acer notebook with endless OS preinstalled (see: http://endlessos.com). It is Debian based, but uses only flatpak as installation package format. regards -- ? Bernhard Treutwein

R CMD Sweave versus Sweave() on Windows
Dear list subscriber, I am quite puzzled by the behaviour of processing Sweave files within an R session, i.e. Sweave("foo.Rnw") versus R CMD Sweave foo.Rnw In the former the environmental variable 'SWEAVE_STYLEPATH_DEFAULT = TRUE' is obeyed (this is set in etc/Renviron.site as well as under the users home directory in .Renviron). That is the hard-coded path to Sweave.sty is

Preventing hour-long fsck on ext3-filesystem
Hi! I'm justing in the process of setting up a new fileserver for our company. I'm installing CentOS 5.3 (64 bit) on it. One of the "problems" with it is that it has a 3.5TB filesystem for the user data which I formatted during setup as an ext3. Now my experience with our current fileserver is that a 0.5TB ext3 filesystem needs approx half an hour to complete (and kicks in

patch: list shared namespace
Hi, I've been working on a patch for dovecot 1.2 from the Kolab branch (http://hg.intevation.org/kolab/dovecot-1.2_kolab-branch/) that implements listing of shared namespaces. I've got something that works in some basic way but is still missing some pieces. See the attached patch, which also contains some installation and configuration notes. Implementation notes: One of the main

flatpak installation package?
Of course... R _is_ open source. However, it is unwise to assume that the volunteers scratching itches for their preferred distros will take on additional work... it is more likely that you will need to take on scratching that new itch. -- Sent from my phone. Methods not loaded in R-Devel vs 2.8.1
Dear list-member, I am currently developing a package with S4 classes. The NAMESPACE and DESCRIPTION is printed below. Within this package I have set a method "residuals" for two classes. In version 2.8.1 these two are reported whereas in R-Devel (2009-01-28 r47766). What have I missed? What has changed and how can I rectify the issue? Your help and pointers are welcome. For 2.8.1:

dovecot 1.2: dict no longer really support DICT_ITERATE_FLAG_RECURSE
Hi, In dovecot 1.1, I could use DICT_ITERATE_FLAG_RECURSE when iterating over a dict to retrieve all entries that start with a given prefix. This doesn't seem to work anymore in the new dict implementation in dovecot 1.2. Looking at the SQL queries actually generated, it seems as if dovecot 1.1 used to generate queries that use pattern matching (key LIKE "my/prefix/%") whereas

XFS-filesystem corrupted by defragmentation Was: Performance problems with XFS on Centos 5.4
Before I'd try to defragment my whole filesystem (see attached mail for whole story) I figured "Let's try it on some file". So I did > xfs_bmap /raid/Temp/someDiskimage.iso [output shows 101 extents and 1 hole] Then I defragmented the file > xfs_fsr /raid/Temp/someDiskimage.iso extents before:101 after:3 DONE > xfs_bmap /raid/Temp/someDiskimage.iso [output shows 3

Unable to upload printer drivers
Ok, quick rely, i got a memory freshup.. The samsung driver in the xml, is not package aware. See: KB3170455 (w7) KB3163912 (w10) which is the cause of this problem. Now removing these KB's is not option. So we are back to : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/print/constructing-a-package-aware-driver-with-updated-core-drivers Read it, but this is what we are

Change title size in plot(model)?
I want to use the plot(model) function to generate Tukey-anscomb and Q-Q plots of a lm(). I manage to change all labels but the main one which apparently is neither main or sub. So far I have tried as par setting: cex (changes symbol size within the plot), cex.main (no effect), cex.sub (no effect) cex.lab (changes label size), cex.axis (changes axis label size). What I would like to change is the
