hello, acts_as_ferret questions, any help greatly appreciate
...2. is there a complete tutorial online for acts_as_ferret plugin? so far
all the blogs that i came across pretty much say the same thing.
3. does acts_as_ferret do this? if i specify acts_as_ferret to index
just title column in my ''recipe'' table, and if someone types ''bbq plate''
in the search box, will these recipes with the following title match?
"island bbq style plate"
"bbq ribs"
"potato plate salad"
"my bbq plate"
if so, will the one with the most matching text like "my bbq plate" be
listed as #1?...

Recommended search library?
I''m at a point where I''d like to start adding search capability to my
app, so I thought I''d ask:
Anyone have any recommendations for a good Rails search
library/plugin/etc? There seem to be quite a few different ones out
there, but I don''t have much context on any of them.
What is the difference between using Ferret, or a SearchGenerator,

[PATCH 0 of 4 V2] oxenstored fixes -- fixes recent pvops kernel hang
Currently PVHVM Linux guests after ddacf5ef684a "xen/pv-on-hvm kexec:
add xs_reset_watches to shutdown watches from old kernel" hang when
run against oxenstored because it does not handle the unknown
XS_RESET_WATCHES operation and does not reply.
The symptom of this issue is a hang during boot at this point:

help locating how-to guide for centos, postfix, dovecot, clamav and spamassassin
I have tried searching google (found page 1 only in the cache),
howtoforge.com, linuxhelp.net (older postfix document), centos forums,
hughesjr forum and centos irc channel.
I was pointed to linuxhelp.net and at first thought that the howto in
the forums there was it. Unfortunately, I only glanced at the title when
I bookmarked it and when I got back home later that evening and

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL

acts as ferret javascript.back fails after a search result
hi,
i use ferret in my application and when the user uses the search, i
return some records. the user then clicks on a result to view details.
on the details page, i have a javascript.history.back to return to the
search result. however, i get the expired results page and the user has
to refresh the browser. is there a simple way to solve this?
thanks.

testing with httperf...help a noob?
hello there,
ive downloaded and watched the peepcode screencast on httperf. i am now
trying to see how much load my site can handle. quick question, while i
run 1000 connections, while this test is running, and i go surf my site,
is the site response times similar to as if my site is actually having
1000 connections?
also, what does --rate do? does that say for each connection do that
rate?
