Cyberpower CP850PFCLCD 120% battery charge
Hello all, I have a CyberPower Systems CP850PFCLCD that I'm hooking up to NUT 2.4.3 from apt running under Ubuntu 10.04. Using the usbhid-ups driver, things *seem* to work at first glance, but there are some odd issues. The most notable issue is that the battery.charge indicator reads 120 when at full charge. I came across this post here: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsuser/2007-September/003222.htmlbut it looks like the user never supplied the necessary data. The other issue that I found was that the LB flag is sent way to early when I...

Battery condition tools CentOS/Dell
Hello all: Does anyone know of a tool/project that will allow me to read the battery condition (not the charge status) on a Dell laptop battery? Under XP there is a utility that warns that the battery is still holding a charge but that the battery is degraded and should be replaced. Also, not sure if this is possible, but I would like to control how the laptop charges the battery....

RFC: new variable battery.status (was: [PATCH] upscode2: Report ABM Status)
2012/2/6 thomas schorpp <thomas.schorpp at googlemail.com>: > Hi, Hi Thomas, > I want the driver report the battery status from ABM charging controllers > -patch attached- : thanks for your patch. since it introduces a new variable (battery.status.abm), I prefer to step back and think to something useful more widely. thus, I'm thinking about a generic "battery.status" that would have the foll...

Logic problem in NUT with upscode2 driver
Hi All, I have what is probably a 12 year old (or older) Compaq R3000 UPS plugged into a FreeBSD 8 system running NUT version 2.6.5 This UPS contains a total of 16 batteries in 2 banks of 8, each battery is 6 volts and the bank produces 50 volts. The UPS monitors battery voltage and the battery charger in the UPS works like this. For about 2 days it will apply a charge/float/topping voltage of 55.2 volts to the batteries. During that time the battery voltage measures 55.2 volts both with a vol...

RFC: new variable battery.status
...YOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!! There was a smaller patch posted to the list for lines -1389,9 +1390,10 a couple years ago, it helped some - BUT - it was still buggy. I have a Compaq R3000, I will get this patch integrated pronto and test Note that since the UPS relies on the voltage from the battery pack to determine state of charge, it is quite useful to add in the battery pack voltage to the logs as such: --- upslog.c.orig 2012-07-31 10:38:58.000000000 -0700 +++ upslog.c 2014-02-20 09:23:14.000000000 -0800 @@ -50,6 +50,7 @@ static flist_t *fhead = NULL; #define DEFAULT...

"battery is low" logged
I got around to unplugging my UPS and I found it doesn't last nearly as long as estimated. Is the "upsmon[1446]: UPS desktop_ups at localhost battery is low" logged when "battery.runtime:" = "battery.runtime.low: 120"? Does any make better batteries that don't go down faster when they get old? battery.charge: 100 battery.charge.low: 10 battery.charge.warning: 50 battery.date: not set battery.mfr.date: 2015/09/19...

[OT] how do I remove a battery
I've got an MSI K9N Platinum MS 7250 VER 1.1 motherboard with a dead battery. The battery mounts vertically: http://www.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/~hennebry/computer/battery.png To me, the tab on the right would seem to need moving. It does not want to move. I am reluctant to apply any more force than I already have without knowing how to apply it. How do I remove the battery? --...

APC SMART-UPS 1500 always reporting LB
...ave a client who's APC SMART-UPS 1500 (circa 2000) is always reporting LB. The batteries were old so they were replaced two weeks ago with brand new batteries. UPS still reported low batteries... I ran a calibration and a test on the unit (using the nut upscmd utility) During those tests, the battery charge on the unit goes to zero and slowly starts making its way back up 100%. Then, the "LB" ups.status will come and go every few hours until it finally stays on. All battery leds on the unit are flashing also indicating that the UPS thinks there is a low battery condition - which corre...

...a string in 52-nut-usbups.rules from: SUBSYSTEM!="usb_device", GOTO="nut-usbups_rules_end" to: SUBSYSTEM!="usb*", GOTO="nut-usbups_rules_end" to make hotplugging work on my Gentoo 2007.0, kernel 2.6.22.1 and default Gentoo udev rules. There are 3 issues. 1. Battery charge. I attach a patch to the latest svn revision that adds information for my Krauler's battery. The battery charge reported by nut should be almost the same as reported by UPSilon2000 for Windows software, thx to USB SnoopyPro. I had to change "int nominal" to "float nominal...

Megatec and Batteries
Hi to all, I am new on the lists but using nut on megatec for last two and half years. Looking at archives I saw that there is a lot of people confused about battery voltage and I want to help them to clear out some stuff in their heads. This story is based on my experience with UPS devices from 600VA to 20kVA, from single phase systems to three phase systems, with battery packs from 1 battery to 62 batteries in both technologies interactive (aka stand-by)...

OT: UPS battery vendor
Hi, folks. I need some new replacement batteries for rack-mount APC UPSes. My old vender... well, the salesman I dealt with for several years left about a year and a half ago, and last year's purchase was a disaster (wrong batteries, wrong batteries, months to get the shipping to return the wrong batteries...), so I'm looking for a new, reliable vendor who does US government contract

blazer driver: Possible bugs with battery packs
...this UPS serially. NUT version is the latest for Windows, Beta 2.6.5-4 for Windows. ups.conf: [ups1] driver = blazer_ser port = com1 offdelay = 240 I can see that the blazer_ser driver is at version 1.55. So here is where the problems begin, due to the fact that the device does not provide a battery.charge indication. Specifically, without providing a runtime cal, I get the following data: battery.charge: 60 battery.voltage: 270.00 battery.voltage.high: 293.69 battery.voltage.low: 234.95 battery.voltage.nominal: 271.1 device.mfr: UPS device.model: Model 20K device.type: ups driver.name: blaz...
