Guidelines for CentOS Mailing List posts
Some people don't know how to conduct themselves on usenet
and mailing lists. Despite the mailing list guidelines
being crystal clear about no html posting and not top-posting
we have people still doing so. People still use text-readers to
access the mailing list so you could be denying access to these
people by flouting the mailing list guidelines.
This is an example of top-posting

kernel question
An interesting bug in RHEL 3(which affects CentOS 3) has been
bantered around for a while. There are some kernel
patches(beyond my scope right now) or some echo statements tht
are used(this helped my situation). The newest 2.4.x kernels
have these patches incorporated. Would centOS 3 go nuts if i
installed the latest kernel from kernel.org?

Useful patch in the bugtracker: streaming MOH
...bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000413
This allows you to use the very sophisticated mp3 streaming audio
tools that exist for broadcast (Open Source as well as commercial) to
build your own mini-stations, complete with advertisements, annoying
product placements, and insipid corporate banter while you have
people trapped in a hold queue, helpless and unable to do anything
but listen to the drivel that you wish to push into their ears.

Air Conditioning - ON!
...ly to a thread... get really
down angry and in the dirt... then when you're done, just delete it.
CentOS team,
I do have just one suggestion (and I have no rights to ask this). It
seems that the list goes quiet and waits for a while and then explodes a
few days/weeks/months later with this banter. If you would consider a
public release to this list, perhaps once per week during major releases
with just some tidbit of how things are going, perhaps these threads
wouldn't explode. With that would be the need for it to be an
announcement or something that does not allow it to become a d...

IAX config documentation
Is there any documentation on configuring IAX between * machines? I've
noticed references to many topics in the config files, including:
- dialplans
- trunking
- authentication
- transfers
But before I go and try to grok 8000 lines of source (in one file, no
less) I was hoping that somewhere there exists even something like a man
page that describes the configuration options.

First PRI Installed - WOOT
...I got my first PRI installed. It literally took less than 5
minutes and the circuit was up and we were making calls. The T100P is
performing excellent. The Linux/Asterisk box is running well and the
quality is great. The line is from MCI and they did a great job. I
know this is not the usual banter but I just thought I would share a
good experience and throw out some props to Digium and Mark. I love it
when things work well and work the first time.
Cheers,
Wiley

OT - the "Dear Thompson Media" open letter.
...I built back in late 1999 for myself and some buddies.
Suffice it to say, I now have three more open-source zealots in the house,
and it was fun to watch my three kids destroy the reference board.
Good night to all - and have fun reading the slashdot link in the open
letter. Lots of transcoding banter.

ps - the reference board was based on a overclocked 386 cpu - no possible
ogg decoding life for it.

Help with debugging fatal exception in Dreamweaver
Hello list.
I've been bantering back and forth with some members here regarding a fatal
exception I get when starting up Dreamweaver. I am running Mandrake 9.1
(Kernel 2.4.22) and wine 20050419. Dreamweaver was installed with wine
20040408 and I have tried other versions in between.
The error is "Dreamweaver encountered...

Outlook 2013/2010 nightmare #2

So the bottom line for this particular site is:

Motherboards and IRQs
Someone mentioned earlier (I can't find the message now) that they had a
motherboard that allowed you to change IRQ assignments in BIOS. Does
anyone happen to know how to identify motherboards that can do this? I'm
going to put together a new machine now and I'm having trouble picking a
motherboard for it (ordering from Dell or other online vendor is not an
option, since I need

ad, sad, sad. on many fronts. I don't begin to understand how this might
work; I suppose the MP3 degradation only applies to MS encoding software...
*shrug*
this may, however, provide a good leveraging point for Vorbis.

[cfe-dev] RFC: Moving toward Discord and Discourse for LLVM's discussions
There *are* open-source Discord clients, 3rd party tools and the like. The
corporation behind Discord is just not authorising you legally to use any
of those tools at hand. There are rarely any technical barriers or
countermeasures, though.

How do you stop a Ruby method from executing?
Hey guys,
How do you stop Ruby code from executing? For example,
def newaction
puts "1"
return
puts "2"
end
I tried return in the following example, but it continues and than looks
for newaction.rhtml. How do I stop it completely dead in its tracks?

hoverclass on droppable zone
Hi guys,
I''m trying to make a drag''n''drop portal using sortable element. I
would like to apply the "hoverclass" option only on the droppable zone

Any idea a about the solution?
Thanks for any help,

Cisco vs Asterisk
Hello all,
A client of us, is thinking to migrate their actual PBX to a Cisco
CallManager. We want to sell him an asterisk box to complement the
Cisco PBX.
I think to use asterisk as a Voicemail server (Replazing the Cisco Unity)
Has asterisk all the functionalities to replace a CIsco Unity server?
Which functionalities Cisco Unity has than asterisk could cover?
How could asterisk complement the
