RInside & child threads
Hi Folks,
I am creating a multi-threaded C++ application that initializes RInside in
one of the child thread.
I would also like to access support interfaces like Rcpp::Environment in the
remaining child threads, so that I could access any "R" function associated
with the
environment initialized.
When I run my program, I always get "C Stack limit too huge" errors.
I looked

pxelinux and tftp server
We are trying to network boot a IBM PC with Linux using PXE.
PXELINUX.0 gets downloaded properly.
But when PXELINUX tries to get the /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<xyz>
config file, it keeps on rebooting.
We found that the tftp server that we are using does not support
tsize option.
Could this be a problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.

low level plotting question on R
Dear List,
I am trying to modify the xlab and ylab for a current figure that was
plotted by a package, I searched through the low level plotting command and
they do not seem to contain how to do this (the only way is to use xlab,
ylab as arguments in "plot" command, which I can not do since the plot is
plotted using some other package, not by my own script). Is there any
command for

active pdf/annotated visualization RFC
How can R users take advantage of the "active PDF" paradigm
for annotation of statistical graphics? The basic objective
is to take a small number of locations on a graph and
hyperlink them -- add persistent information to the pdf

on the location, a browser is (started if necessary and) pointed

importing excel-file
Dear R-experts,
It is a quite stupid question but please help me. I am very confuced. I
am able to import normal txt ant mat-files to R but unable to import
.xls-file
I do not understand the online help. Can please anyone send me the
corresponding command lines? The .xls-file is attached. In my file we
use commas for the decimal format (example: 0,712), changes might be
needed.
Thanks, Corinna

Matrix 1.6.2+ versus Matrix 1.6.2-
Package Rmosek compiles fine using Matrix versions 1.6.2- but not with
anything beyond Matrix 1.6.2.? (FYI, Rmosek provides R interfaces to the
excellent MOSEK solver; academic licenses are free.)
Here is the error message:
