Apache jserv monitoring?
In our environment we have many legacy application servers running apache/jserv. There is a web server front end, then a couple of load-balanced java servers on the backside. One of the problems we are faced with is hung or stuck jvms. I have looked at the java process with the ps command, and there are many times when URL(s) do not respond, yet the java looks healthy, at least from the OS point of view. The usual cure for this situation is to restart the JVM, then...

typemap.i.patch: The Next Generatio
OK, I figured it out. It was basically right the first time. I was bit in the backside by macro side effects. Turns out NUM2INT causes its argument to be called twice so it was double shifting. This version doesn''t do that. Roy _______________________________________________ wxruby-users mailing list wxruby-users@rubyforge.org http://rubyforge.org/mailman/listinfo/wxr...

The pros and cons of a wiki AppDB
2009/3/7 Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio at earthlink.net>: > I can think of one possible benefit. There are a lot of apps without maintainers, and there might be users of those apps who would be willing take a few minutes to post bits of useful information in a wiki, but don't want the responsibility of being a maintainer. Sure, they could just post info in a comment, but user comments are

...deally should never repeat anywhere, even on different machines I administer. So I imminently am using encrypted password storage. These days it is keepassx. Just my $0.02 Valeri PS I don't like though policies invented by bureaucrats having no technical knowledge serving only to cover their backsides, like in National Laboratories they require one to change password every 6 Months, and password should never be anything you used in the past. This doesn't serve security, and is counter-productive. This policy for me indicates that they declare explicitly that they maintain security of their...

pam/radius, SecurID, any news?
...erver is a radius daemon, we have a lot of ssh v1 stuff still (I'm getting rid of it slowly, but can't do it all at once), has anyone got this working at all? Theo's comments in Jan have me worried, and if I lock myself out of these boxes, it's a flight interstate with a boot up my backside to fix it! So, before I go to the trouble of setting up VPN's etc to this server, can anyone tell me if they have it working? Or, what's the status with Theo's patches? Thanks Carl

Need help for a quick fun t-shirt/polo project - graphics artist wanted
...e w/ the Asterisk logo. If anybody is a good graphics artist and is willing to spend the 10-15 minutes it'd take to whip up some cool graphics to put on the shirts it'd be much appreciated. I was thinking of maybe a small logo or just the word VoIP on the front and something awesome on the backside. One friend of mine suggested a phone cord going around the shirt like a grenade or ammunition belt that goes across the chest and back. Maybe the word VoIP and a brief description, or some cool quote. If you're willing to help me come up with a few designs, I'd have him make a few extra...

overlaying points and lines on a surface3d rgl plot with axes
Hi R users and experts, I am interested in learning more about the use of 3D plots. Specifically, I want to add points and lines to a surface plot. And get the axes and labels plotted also. Here is what I have tried with an example data set : library(rgl) vol2 <- 2*volcano # Exaggerate the relief library(reshape) mvol2 <- melt(vol2) str(mvol2) # First, persp and persp3d plots do not succeed

Hello, I don't know much about Samba so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm currently working on a project for a client that relies on Unix machines for their main applications. Access to Unix applications is done through terminal emulation (vt 100) on Windows PCs. We are implementing a Windows NT network for file an print sharing and to support SMS. One of the goals of the

[LLVMdev] DAGCombiner rant
Hi Scott, I'm not clear on what you're saying here; some of your points below seem to be contradictory. The advice to use target-independent nodes when feasible seems sound to me, so I wrote up a comment about it in SelectionDAGNodes.h. If you can formulate your thoughts in the form of specific documentation changes, that would be helpful. In theory, DAGCombiner is supposed to check if

TDM400P lockups (FXO)
Hey all - we have two TDM400P cards in an SMP Redhat9 box, with 4 FXO ports each running thel latest Asterisk CVS. Users connect to this to share POTS lines using analog phones connected to Sipura SPA-2000 boxes. All works reasonably well, except every day (or more) a line will get "locked up". No other way to describe it really -- the line just stops working, so if someone tries

[LLVMdev] DAGCombiner rant
Yes, it was I who put that rant in the commit log and it's justified. Worse, it's unreasonable to actually go through all of DAGCombiner's code and check to see if certain kinds of constants, e.g., i64, are legal during a particular phase of DAGCombiner. DAGCombiner does good work and the backends are supposed to be good citizens. CellSPU is certainly trying to be a good citizen, no

Now I'm just puzzled, but with a sinking feeling that something I don't understand is biting me in the backside... The result is that any unmapped users or groups on an upgraded Samba domain controller may be assigned a new SID. Because the SID rather than a name is stored in Windows security descriptors, this can cause a user to no longer have access to a resource for example if a file was copie...
