Extending RAIDZ.
Yeah:) I''d like to work on this. Here are my first observations: - We need to call vdev_op_asize method with additonal ''offset'' argument, - We need to move data to new disk starting from the very begining, so we can''t reuse scrub/resilver code which does tree-walk through the data. Below you can see how I imagine to extend RAIDZ. Here is the legend:

MasterView rails-optimize (x)html friendly template engine - Release 0.2.4
MasterView is a rails-optimized (x)html friendly template engine plugin that provides another option to the existing rails view templates (rhtml and rxml). The main idea is to provide a template engine that would provide all the power of layouts, partials, and rails helpers but still be editable/styleable in a WYSIWYG editor. It was also a major goal that the syntax of these attribute directives

Rails 1.1RC1 corrupts my sqlite3 database
When I run TOT rails, my development sqlite3 database is corrupted whenever Rails attempts to access it. I found this a couple of days ago and reported it as <http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4330>. When I backout changeset 3981, I cannot reproduce the corruption. Has anyone else seen this problem? I''m running Mac OS X 10.4.5 with Ruby 1.8.4. I also have reinstalled both swig and sqlite3-ruby, just to try and rule out my setup as the problem. -- Ryan

which cvs versions are being used in production systems?
What cvs versions are people using in a production environment? Is there a good way to choose a cvs version, like maybe one right before a major change? Are there any plans on having a "testing" branch that is not as stable as stable, but not as bleeding edge as head? I'm thinking of compiling a list of specific cvs versions that are being successfully deployed, would this be

Problem with 2.4.14 and 9.15-2414
I just upgraded to kernel 2.4.14 and applied the ext3 patch ext3-2.4-0.9.15-2414.gz. It appears (to me) that the patch breaks the loop block device module (loop.o). The problem is that the call to deactivate_page is unresolved. The routine used to be defined in swap.c. It looks like it no longer exists in 2.4.14. I'm not a kernel programmer so if I'm mistaken, sorry. I do get an

No$Zoomer not recognizing NDS ROMs
I'm trying to run No$Zoomer, kind of an addition for GBA/NDS emulator No$GBA, that allows to play on higher screen. According to a report in the AppDB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=18574) someone seemingly managed to get it working by editing the .ini file. However, and since first time I tried to run it, Zoomer executes but it doesn't recognize the

Updated: rsync-2.5.2-1
...2 has a data-destroying bug as described here: http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/rsync/2002-January/005966.html I ran into it yesterday after compiling 2.5.2 from source on another platform. The bug is associated with the security fix described in the change log. I didn't manage to apply the backout patch (didn't try very hard) but I fixed the problem by downgrading to 2.5.1. Lapo, does Cygwin rsync-2.5.2-1 suffer from this bug? Based on your message I should think it would. I strongly advise against upgrading until the bug is fixed. --- Mark Hadfield m.hadfield@niwa.co.nz http://katipo....

safety of LVM backups
Greetings, Can anybody confirm the safety of LVM snapshot backout (not a backup -- but similar to snapshot restore) for a VM? I understand that there is a step for restart of the CM and not live migration. Will any thing of rsync will help considering a usage of DD on various VM file formnats and various *visors(s)? Or is there a suggested (best practices) wa...

FreeBSD 7.0-RC3 (for amd64/i386 only) Available
We're doing a "mini-RC3" to encourage testing of the Highpoint driver (hptrr) backout. Testing of 7.0-RC2 showed there were problems with the driver update done between RC1 and RC2. Because it's a "mini-RC" targetted at testing of one particular thing we have not bothered with setting up FreeBSD Update. You can use the normal cvsup-and-build method of doing an updat...

Home directory weirdness after upgrade from 3.0.33 to 3.5.6
Hi List, I've just updated from Samba 3.0.33 to 3.5.6 on my Centos 5.5 PDC and am having problems accessing home directories. To allow a backout option I set up a new server, put 3.0.33 on it, joined it to the domain and rsynced the home directories over with the flags necessary to maintain the permissions and user/group ownership. This worked and after completion I upgraded the new server to 3.5.6 flushed the /var/lib/samba directory...
