Samba suddenly not working, and all I did was change hard drives!
Hi,
We've had our business server functioning dandy for a long time, with
SAMBA acting as a domain controller for our Windows XP pro clients. No
issues. All was lovely. We're running Suse 9.3, Kernel
2.6.8-24.14-smp, Samba version Version 3.0.9-2.3.
Now, it was time to upgrade hard drives in the RAID controller, to
create a 200 gb container (rather than the 100 gb container we had).
So,

Best Wine Front-End
Hello I was wondering what are the best Wine Front-Ends. PlayonLinux is excellent with games that is for sure... But when I try to install the copy I bought of Babylon Pro 9 a few years ago, when I try to push the dictionaries I simply can't... So I would like to know what is the most friendly front-end in order to install applications that need patches and updates (in this case my babylon

Error when executing "rake db:migrate" with frozen Rails 2.1.0 on Media Temple
I''m hoping someone might have some insight into this, because I don''t
quite know how to figure this one out. I''m running the command with
Capistrano''s deploy:migrate to my (mt) Media Temple (gs) Grid Server,
but I get the same error (from "rake aborted!" and on below) when I
run "rake db:migrate" directly on the server in the

ATTN Jamie Thompson: Authentication Issues
I was having the exact same problem, where the NT4 box complains, "The
client is not authorized to login from this station." or something to
that effect. The problem is that the Samba machine is not set up to use
encrypted passwords, and NT requires them by default. You can either
change a setting in the NT registry, making it allow clear-text logins,
or you can set up your Samba box to

Problem with Samba: "The account is not authorized to login from this station"
I am having a problem configuring Samba to work with my NT mahcines. I
can see the linux server from my NT machines. Under security=user, when
I attempt to browse the linux machine's shares, it asks for a username
and password, and then fails, telling me "The account is not authorized
to login from this station." If I set security = share, I can browse the
shares, but when I try and

Just an interesting data point
SO, my full load on my core UPS is two Dell R610s, one Sun X4540, one HP
DL360p gen8, two six-core Thuban-II workstations plua their monitors,
and the network stack and KVM.
The APC SU3000RM (3KVA) that blew up last week considered this to be
just short of 60% load.
The new Cyberpower PR3000 (also 3KVA), wqhich operates at a 90% power
factor, considers this same load to be 43% load.
I wasn't

CentOS-Base.repo baseurl commented out

Dear,
Recently I have noticed that on all my CentOS machines the
CentOS-Base.repo file seems to have been modified resulting in all
baseurl= lines being commented out.
Did I miss something that was planned or is this a bug?
Best regards,

CyberPower PR3000LCDRTXL2U and NUT 2.8.0 - mute?
I have a CyberPower PR3000LCDRTXL2U with a BP48V75ART2U expansion
chassis, which I am monitoring using NUT 2.8.0 (on Gentoo Linux). TThe
UPS appears to be telling me that the batteries need replacement due to
age. CyberPower support has confirmed that for me and told me how i
should be able to mute the alarm from the front panel until I can
replace the batteries, but it doesn't appear

BackupExec 8.5/NT + Samba 2.2
Hi,
Does anyone have experience with BackupExec and Samba?
BackupExec refuse to access Samba shares. Windows shares are OK, but all my
Samba shares are not. I have Samba on at least 2 Linux 2.4 machines + 1 on
Solaris. Neither ones work with BExec.
Any idea? Other have experience with BExec and Samba?
Thanks a lot
