Aterisk@Home
Hi All, We have just installed Asterisk@Home. It was straight forward as promised. However, I cannot find any guides or tutorials on how to administer this version of asterisk. We plan to install a bunch of Cisco 7960 and 7905 IP phones. I have a test phone which has already been upgraded to SIP 7. Now the box is ready but we don't know what the next step is!! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance Barry

New to asterisk? RUN... don't walk.
...documents can only be useful for explaining how things work to those already in-the-know. Lastly, Asterisk is so bug ridden, expect frequent segmentation faults. With a community so 'anti-n00b', don't expect your problems to be fixed anytime soon. RUN!!! Don't walk... away from Aterisk. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? CDR mysql: timeout when remote database unavailable
...the same machine as Asterisk) so > that it is definitely available, tell Asterisk to write to that, and then set > up replication to the remote MySQL instance which is sometimes unavailable. That is an interesting suggestion, which I'll consider. But I would still like to know where the Aterisk mysql timeout duration comes from, and whether it can be configured. thanks,

Hi, I just setup two voicemail boxes - but after they record the wav file, they don't seem to email it even though i have the correct format in my voicemail.conf file. Aterisk doesn't give me any feedback besides the recording of the voip file... and then stays there. Secondly, I can't get the Playback() function to work. Thanks, Imran

High availability Asterisk
Hi folks, I'm experimenting with Heartbeat and whilst I have it running in an active/standby configuration I cannot get Asterisk to perform properly. I'm able to start the asterisk software (I imported the aterisk start file from /etc/init.d into /etc/ha.d/resource.d) with the heartbeat software but heartbeat continues to start more Asterisk instances. Any ideas? Mark

Selecting outgoing trunk based on extension number
Hi all, I have situation in that we are renting out a room in our office building to another company, including the provision of phone lines via our Aterisk box. To keep billing simple, we would like them to be billed separately for all their calls. We think we can achieve this by them leasing their own outbound IAX trunk (which our providers have said is no problem) and having all their calls routed to that trunk. However, we use AMP and I can...
