New Project: AskoziaPBX
...o a bit larger audience. This is not a live-cd but rather an image that must initially be written to a disk, so a dedicated machine is needed. After that, the entire system is upgradeable through the webGUI. Anyone familiar with the m0n0wall project (http://m0n0.ch/wall) will feel right at home as AskoziaPBX was forked from it. Here are the quick facts from the website and a link to the page: * ~11 MB firmware image * PHP based GUI accessible via http(s) * based on Asterisk 1.4 and FreeBSD 6.2 * designed for embedded / low resource systems * images available for the following plat...

AskoziaPBX 2.0 Released
Hello everyone, I haven't said much here about the project for awhile now but I think this is worth a mention. PXE-bootable diskless Asterix distro?
Hello Since I got the IBM Netvista to boot Linux, and am still waiting for the Compact Flash cards that I ordered, I was wondering if someone knew of an Asterisk distribution that can run on that kind of diskless host? I've taken a look at AstLinux and AskoziaPBX, but they both seem to be meant to be installed on a solid-state medium instead of RAM. For instance, the Netvista is unable to uncompress a kernel, so expects "linux" instead of "vmlinuz", etc. Or is it trivial even for a non-guru like me to modify such light Asterisk distros...

Minimal Asterisk Web Interface?
I'm looking for a web GUI to Asterisk that I can run on some small embedded hardware. I've used FreePBX in the past but the overhead is not to my liking and it is entirely too complicated. I do not wish to change my entire OS just for the GUI either (aka AstLinux). Is there anything out there? I'd like to have only a small set of features, primarily the configuration of extensions,

Smallest possible Asterisk VM
How small can an Asterisk system be, in terms of disk space utilized? I am looking for just asterisk, with mysql, postgresql, or sqlite, with PHP and Python. After finishing the build and removing the tools, how small can the whole system be? 100Mb, 200Mb? Can packages be used to build the whole system, like using debs and rpms alone? /vfclists
