PBIB datataset
...is called "PBIB" (a partially balanced incomplete block design). All the other datasets can be found somewhere or other in R. However, I cannot locate PBIB, and it does not seem to be mentioned in the latest edition of the R Full Reference Manual. I Have Been Good. I Have Searched The Arcives. There was a similar query back on 16 July 2002 from E. Corda; it seems this got no response (that I could find). So: Is it available? If not, is there a particular reason (e.g. copyright)? If not available on CRAN, is there an alternative source? With thanks, Ted. ---------------------------...

Old posts and the ability to search...
Gents, Just a passing thought... is there any reason why the ability to search the past posts on here isn't switched on? Just wondered, since it makes much more sense to be able to search the old archives if you have a problem, rather than ask the same question again and again... Paul

Mailing list archives
Hello, I tried to search the samba mailing list archives located at: http://us1.samba.org/search/smb-mail.shtml But whatever I look for, I get the answer: "No matches were found for" I think that there *must* be at least some archived mail messages containing the words "wins" or "browse". But I always get this message, so it seems that there is a problem with

Also, could you try with 2.6.0-test3 to see if it is something that has already been covered by the 2.6 bug fixing?

Attach LDAP to Samba or wait Samba4
Hi guys, I wanna know if somebody as already did this. Attach a LDAP server to Samba to authenticate Users that are connecting to this samba server. My wish is that I can replace soon the Windows Server 2000 we have by a free alternative. In case that no ones as done this thing, is it preferable to wait for Samba4 Release and have a true implementation on a DC server in Samba !! -- Sam

Want to help Wine project?
This message is for those who wants to help Wine project but do not know where to start. We need contributors of a wide range of skills. The minimal requirements are: access to a computer with Linux (or other Unix-like system) where you can use Wine. We have a lot of tasks which are relatively easy to do. The fact that these tasks are easy does not mean they are not important. Examples of the

initramfs scripts + cpio archive stuff
--32u276st3Jlj2kUU Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Hi all (two) klibc hackers! 8) Here's the stuff I've been using to build an initramfs image and run it on one of my machines. Unfortunately, the "init" script contains hard coded information about where to find the root, etc, but it should give people a working base to start from. It

TEST 3 If you get a "connection refused" response then the smbd server may not be running. If you installed it in inetd.conf then you probably edited that file incorrectly. If you installed it as a daemon then check that it is running, and check that the netbios-ssn port is in a LISTEN state using "netstat -a". Note: You have xinetd not inetd on the redhat box. To avoid all
