Using partials with Markaby
...der.rb:203:in `method_missing'': no such method `record'' Anyone know what I''m missing here? I suspect that there''s a special way to access parameters in partials for Markaby, but I haven''t been able to figure out what it is. -- Larry Wright http://www.approachingnormal.com http://www.welcometoparenthood.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. form_for not working with Markaby
...39;'article'', ''content'' end_form_tag Renders the form just fine. Anyone have thoughts on why this would be? I really like Markaby, and I also prefer the form_for syntax, so ideally I would like to use both. Any help would be appreciated. -- Larry Wright http://www.approachingnormal.com http://www.welcometoparenthood.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Using the rails configuration outside rails
...ell). I''ve seen help on the Wiki for using models outside of Rails (like this article<http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/HowToUseActiveRecordOutsideRails>), but I''d rather not repeat my database configuration. Is there a better way to do this? -- Larry Wright http://www.approachingnormal.com http://www.welcometoparenthood.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... user-defined columns
I am breaking ground on a new project and one of the issues I expect to encouter is the ability of users to define their own columns. For example, one of the features of this application will be the ability to store information about people''s skills and then search for and schedule them based on this information. Since every organization''s needs are different, it would be ideal

TextDrive complaints
Hi all, I have deployed my Ruby On Rails application on TextDrive. At first everything seamed to be fine. However, lately, response time of my application is incredible slow. Worse, lately there is also a lot of downtime. I have contacted their support desk, however, they do not respond (at all, or very, very late). Has anyone else these experiences with TextDrive? And if so, what did you do

Read data from Excel
A client of mine has a ton of data stored in Excel spreadsheets. I''m building a web application for her (backed by a real db of course) and want to import all that data. Is there a library available to read data from Excel? Is there an easy way to upload the spreadsheets and then read the data? Thanks, Ken Kousen -- Kenneth A. Kousen, Ph.D. President Kousen IT, Inc.

Best Linux distibution for ruby on rails developement?
Hi, I am on Kanotix linux since the first distribution was released by Kano. However I am tired of the "if it can go wrong it will go wrong on Kanotix" pattern. Please recommend a distribution that by your experience is best for ruby on rails development and need no hour-long tweacks for even "simple" tasks. Thanks, Jan Martin -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Mongrel 0.3.13.3 -- Ruby Licensed Release
Hello Everyone, This is the official 0.3.13.3 release of Mongrel. Mongrel is now released under the *Ruby license* instead of the LGPL. I''m hoping this increases the adoption of Mongrel even further and hopefully I can start pushing to get Mongrel included in Ruby directly. INSTALL As usual, you install it with your friendly gem install method of choice: gem install mongrel Or

Time To Pick the Mongrel BUGS Mascot!
Bradley Taylor shot me this *goldmine* of ugly ugly ugly dogs: http://www.sonoma-marinfair.org/uglydogvote.shtml I *have* to use one of these for the Mongrel BUGS Mascot. He''ll go on our bug list page and replace the little beetles on the left. Pick the dog you think best represents a lovable but defective pooch and reply to this with your +1. Everyone wants a RoR framework
It seems like everyone now has a RoR type framework: Perl: http://dev.catalyst.perl.org/ PHP: http://cakephp.org/ Python: http://www.django.com ASP.NET: http://www.castleproject.org/index.php/Main_Page etc., etc. Has a revolution begun with the birth of these "Web 2.0" frameworks? Its going to be interesting when the tech media begins its mass hype like it did SOAP, XML, etc. a
