Tiny help for tiny function
I just started to write tiny functions and therefore I appologise in advance
if I am asking stupid question.
I wrote a tiny function to give me back from the original matrix, a matrix
showing only the values smaller -0.8 and bigger 0.8.
y<-c(0.1,0.2,0.3,-0.8,-0.4,0.9)
x<-c(0.5,0.3,0.9,-0.9,-0.7,0.3)
XY<-rbind(x,y)
extract.values<-function (x)

Opening files from R terminal - appologies
Dear all,
I appologise for cluttering up the list with such a basic question,
however I have been unable to find the answer I want (possibly through
my poor usage of the R help system).
As I am visually impaired and using assistive technology, I think I
would prefer to use R from the terminal mode, i.e. by running rter...

Number of components in a mixture model
...kelihood ratio test is not
appropriate in this case due to the possibility that the ML could occur at
the boundry of the parameter space.
Secondly, the example in MASS uses a Q-Q plot to informally assess GOF. I
was wondering if there are some more formal statistical tests for this
purpose.
I appologise for asking questions that are slightly out-of-topic.
Many thanks.

Correlation dichotomous factor, continous (numerical) and ordered factor
Hello R-User!
I appologise in advance if this should also go into statistics but I am
presently puzzled.
I have a data.frame (about 300 rows and about 80 variables) and my variables
are dichotomous factors, continuous (numerical) and ordered factors.
I would like to calculate the linear correlation between every pair of my...

i appologise for the trivialness of this post - but i've been searching the
forum wothout luck - probably simply because it's late and my brain is
starting to go..
i have a frequency table as a matrix:
orig<-matrix(c(40,5,30,25), c(2,2))
orig

iproute2 and kernel 2.6.1/2
Hi there
I''ve searched the archives and googled for a solution with
no success - has anyone successfully built iproute2 under
kernel 2.6.1, or 2.6.2? I''ve tried various releases, each
compile aborting with different errors.
If this is wishful thinking at this stage, does anyone have
a suitable solution for the "Routing for multiple uplinks"
scenario? ie. traffic

I have some problems with gettings the X86_thiscall calling convention to
work. I am new to LLVM, so if this is the wrong place for this question
then I appologise, please tell me where to go instead.

WinZip causes Server to fail - Please help.......
..., however a new package has been installed on the client
workstations that uses an integrated version of winzip 8.
Client workstations range from Win95 through Me to Win2kPro, XP Home/Pro &
Win2k Server in application mode - no corrolation between client OS and the
issue has been detected
I appologise for the lack of real detail (full OS, SMB etc configurations
are available if requested), but the issue appears to hitting every SMB
server i've built regardless of OS, Samba or file system (XFS, EXT3 and EXT2
are all represented accross the servers). Most of the servers utilise
integrated Pro...

No subject
...eq)=3099
length(G$yseq)=5032
rastername=rst
length(rst)=(3099*5032)
Next question:
I would like to broaden every unit in rst in the following way:
rst2<-c(rep(rst[1:1], times=rst[1:1]), rep(rst[2:2], times=rst[2:2] ...
up to the end. Length like mentioned will be sum(rst).
How can I do that?
I appologise for the clumsy language. I hope you will understand this mail.

Okay I'm stumped.
...of work :p I certainly would prefer not
to redo it unless I know it's the problem.
The only other CD I've seen that has the same problem in the same places is
mandrake 9.1 which is an older release of course - but their initrd is pretty
standard.
If I'm missing something obvious I appologise but I'm honestly stuck here. If
needed I'll provide any files you may want to look at.
Ciao

Could this be a rights issue?
I'm pretty new to Samba, so I appologise if this is a really dumb
question, but I can't find a way through it.

directory, and can map a drive to the share from W2K clients and
see/open all the files, the problems arise when I try and edit or create
files, from the W2...

I appologise if this totally irritates people as there seems to be quite

for a little while - bumped into a dead end now ;(

I am having a few issues with debugging so at this stage I cannot provide a

much appreciated.
I really appologise in advanced for the lack of the log file; I will try and
get this sorted out.
Could you also CC your reply to adrian_au1@hotmail.com
