Yet at the point of choosing the installation directory, I don't get any further. I cannot choose one like I can in Windows, and if I manually enter a directory, the

rh62 suid files
Hi, I believe having less root setuid binaries on system is The Way ... so: Why does RH6.2 ships with /sbin/dump & /sbin/restore root setuid? These are for sysadmins, not for regular users I hope. Is /sbin/unix_chkpwd really used and what is it used for? I haven't find anything about it in pam documentation. Is it really necessary to ship /usr/bin/gpasswd and /usr/bin/newgrp? Does

Hello List, i have a spelling and reading software i would like to get running for a primary school because they should not be using windows and the teachers really want that software. Multivariate hypergeometric distribution version of phyper()
Dear R Users, I employed the phyper() function to estimate the likelihood that the number of genes overlapping between 2 different lists of genes is due to chance. This appears to work appropriately. Now i want to try this with 3 lists of genes which phyper() does not appear to support. Some googling suggests i can utilize the Multivariate hypergeometric distribution to achieve this. eg.:

Samba + BDE and slow speed on reading (long)
Hello list. I'm new here, and I'm joining because I'm having a problem wich I can't figure out the solution myself. Here's what's happening: A Samba 3.0.24 is serving files to seven Windows XP clients. Three of those clients run an application with a BDE database. The problem is that when running this application on Samba, it gets very, VERY slow, causing it to hang. I

[LLVMdev] Problems with paged registers and seperated program and data memory
Hi I'm hacking my own backend for a small 16 bit microprocessor. I took some code from the msp430 backend, because there are some similarities. But there are some features, I couldn't find a solution yet: 1. Paged Registers The register set is a bit complicated: it has 64 general purpose registers, and the upper 32 registers are paged registers with 8 pages. The lower 32 registers are

[Bug 580] New: iptables-restore and iptables-save lack comparison of a saved ruleset against the currently deployed rules
...n: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P1 Component: iptables-save AssignedTo: laforge at netfilter.org ReportedBy: linus at hadiko.de For monitoring, debugging and testing apllications, the capability to compare a saved ruleset (via iptables-save) to the currently active (deployed) set would be great. An implementation that gives exit code 0 for no differences and 1 for everything else would suffice. I am trying to monitor some basic routers/firewalls using iptables-save &...

Re: Wine and pulse audio
Using ALSA or OSS instead of PulseAudio is not actual at all. Its si much problems using ALSA and OSS with duplex sound thru wine and native linux-apllications. And problems comes when trying to use things like mumble and playing a game with wine. The pulseaudio-patch which was added for Wine versions up to 1.3.28 (not official i think), has been working just perfect. I tried 1.3.34 which should be patched, but it can't find the pulsedrivers, so I...
