SAR
Folks,
At what point in iowait should I start to worry about having a
bottleneck, or is this something that can't be answerd with a single
integer? According to sar, after my last reboot to turn off
hyperthreading as a test, at one time, I see 4.9% iowait, but then one
minute later, it droped back to 0.01%, and rarely even gets to 1.0%, at
least what I remember from yesterday. ?
thanks....

combn implementation
...else FUN(x[a], ...)
if (simplify)
out[, i] <- r
else out[[i]] <- r
i <- i + 1
}
I wonder what is the meaning of the statement "._1 <- 1:1".
First question: what is the difference with "._1 <- 1"?
Second question (perhaps answerd by the answer to the first): why not
using "1" directly? E.g.:
[...]
h <- 1
e <- a[m]
e <- 1
[...]
Sorry if this is covered by the manuals, but it's not easy to search
for the string "._1" with the usual search engines.
Thank you!

astcc dont write to the table cdrs or cards
...;
$dialstatus = $AGI->get_variable("DIALSTATUS");
print STDERR "dial status $dialstatus\n";
It seems like dialstatus is not returned (which prints nothing).
So obviously later part of the agi does not go through database updating
portion (which only happens if dialstatus = Answerd).
I am using deadagi to call the astcc.agi script as explained.
Can someone explain why this happens ?????
Cheers

problem with the plm package (2)
Thanks a lot for the quick answerd I received and that helped me to
solve my first (simple) problem with the plm package.
Unfortunatley, here's another one:
I do not know why, but I'm unable to estimate a simple model in the
form y ~ 1 + x
When I try

Clarks 2Dt function in R
Dear Ben,
you answerd to Nancy Shackelford about Clarks 2Dt function.
Since the thread ended just after your reply,
I would like to ask, if you have an idea how to use this function in R
I defined it the following way:
function(x , p, u) {
(p/(pi*u))*(1+(x^2/u))^(p+1)
}
and would like to fit this one to my obeserva...

DTMF Talk off
Hello all,
I have seen some chatter again about DTMF. I see most of the talk about DTMF
around not being able to get an external IVR to recognize digits, not a big
issue for me at this time but sill interesting. My issue though, is with
talk off on a zap channel. It seems to be getting worse or maybe my patience
is thinning. All my calls go out and come in pstn through an FXO as I do not

Thanks for help
...ooking for.
The only little drawback is, that the nonlinear systemfit does not
support predifined weights yet (in oder to ensure homegenity of
variances when predictios are hetescedastic)
Thanks also to Katharina, who mailed me offline and drew my attention to
the nls and the nlm function. This answerd my second question.

Know if a call is answered
...ls to another SIP phone.
Using asterisk Master.csv file I only have one record, and don't know if the
second call is answered.
I only know this if:
- The called phone is busy
- The called phone doesn't answer in X seconds (the parameter in Dial)
But I can't see a difference between an answerd call and when the caller
hangs up whith the other phone is still ringing. The call is always
"ANSWERED" and the last command is Dial with the SIP address as the
parameter.
How can I do this? Could it be done with an AGI script?
Sorry if this is a basic question, I have been searching...

'Answered' at wrong time.
...t is passed thru another astrisk
eg. iaxtel, I got 'Answered' in my astrisk, and bill-sec is start counting
as soon I get connected to the other asterisk, and not if the party on the
other asterisk server pick up the phone. So IF the other party are not
aswering the call at all, I still get Answerd and billsec in cdr.
Whats wrong ?
Can I do something about it ?

I'm new to the list, so maybe my question was allready answerd. Anyway
checking the faqs did not show an answer.
If I start a selfprogrammed windowsprogram on Windows, it shows one

On working, this program opens additional windows but the taskbar remains

If I start this program under wine, eve...

modules.conf again
Hi everybody and sorry for posting this again to the
list. I don't want you guys to think that I'm
DEMANDING FOR SUPPORT (we all have just had several
discusions about that) but my experience tell me that
if a posted question is easy enough, it is answered
immediatly, or it will never be answerd!!!(people
forget it...)
Mine are two very simple questions about modules.conf.
It's only a problem of concept, perhaps a wrong idea,
only that. I please ask you to answer, because for me
it's important to have everything more or less
clear.....
THANKS VERY MUCH in advance, and here they...

TFTP menu and input box
Hello,
I wanted to ask you a little question : Is it possible to pass an
argument through an input box (like for the password) to the initrd ? It
could be very usefull for example to set a specific hostname !!
Otherwise I have to it somewhere else after during the initrd
decompression / execution.
Thank you in advance
Kind regards.

glm with variance = mu+theta*mu^2?
How might you fit a generalized linear model (glm) with variance =
mu+theta*mu^2 (where mu = mean of the exponential family random variable
and theta is a parameter to be estimated)?
This appears in Table 2.7 of Fahrmeir and Tutz (2001) Multivariate
Statisticial Modeling Based on Generalized Linear Models, 2nd ed.
(Springer, p. 60), where they compare "log-linear model fits to
