Black+White and Total Annihilation
Hey all I've been trying to get Black and White running under wine. I stick the CD in the drive (wine programs can usually use it), cd to my BnW folder, run "wine runblack.exe", twiddle my thumbs and it tells me to turn off the debugger. So I try again with "wine --debugmsg -all runblack.exe". This just results in the same thing, also printing one "FixMe.."

...ecouple numerous various services of dc1 server and run them in separate LXC containers. Once everything is migrated I'm still planning to have a single domain controller since the hosting environment itself will be very resilient. My plan is to: 1. Demote dc2 and make dc1 forget about it 2. Annihilate dc2 3. Gradually fix all config problems on dc1 4. Deploy brand new dc3 LXC container running newer samba version 5. Replicate AD from dc1 to dc3 and test 6. Dcpromo dc3 to own all roles 7. Annihilate dc1 That's quite a few steps but I'm still badly stuck on no 1 :( Adam

Computing the minimal polynomial or, at least, its degree
Hi, I would like to know whether there exist algorithms to compute the coefficients or, at least, the degree of the minimal polynomial of a square matrix A (over the field of complex numbers)? I don't know whether this would require symbolic computation. If not, has any of the algorithms been implemented in R? Thanks very much, Ravi. P.S. Just for the sake of completeness, a

Mac Wine.app Launcher
Hey, I'm running Wine 1.1 on OS-X Leopard, and am trying to figure out how to tell Finder to open all files with a .exe extension to open with Wine. The only way I can think of is to create a new .app folder with just enough information to link to the actual Wine executable. I took apart the .app package of jEdit and replaced all references to jEdit with ones for Wine, then symlinked the

New winetricks-alpha 20110306: new game Crysis 2 Demo and seven others, new dll dinput, lots of bug fixes; ie8 now works
...efonts: Trebuc filenames have mixed case. Fixes bug winezeug-203. Install apps and benchmarks into their own prefixes, too. Show prefix name uniformly in window title. Move ie to dlls, call dlls 'Windows dlls or components'. Add option --no-isolate-games, make --isolate-games the default annihilate: actually ask permission before annihilating the wineprefix. gta_vc: ported, updated. Better fix for bug winezeug-25, should fix new bug winezeug-229 w_download: fix progress indicator gui for locales that use , as a decimal separator. Pointed out by kmiksi. Fixes bug winezeug-232. Almost have it working...
I almost have wine working well with games, but I have some problems. It seems the wine config is all mixed up with the window management settings, I can never get it set right, and when I start games they are small windows, really small windows. Also the keyboard doesn't work, it works a little in one game "Total Annihilation" but only the shift key, space key and maybe others, I

Total Annihilationcd annd map problems
I've heard that Total Annihilation (a fantastic game) runs in wine, (frankscorner.org and som other people on various malinglists). I've applied the 3.1 patch (ta1x-31c.exe) and tried to run the game under wine-20050628 in Fedora Core 4 with 2.6.11 kernel, it starts and I press "single", no problem, but when I try to press "new campagne" or "skirmish" I

(PR#1289)
Dear all, I've found a bug report for R when installing it on an AIX5.1 system. There's a followup (number 4) that comments a segmentation fault on R when quitting "q()". I'm using a newer version of R but on the same operating system and I obtain the same error. There was a way to solve this problem? Best regards and thanks, --

HVM 100% cpu
...m using 4 vcpus. In xm top, it says the vm is using 399% cpu. But inside the win vm, I see only around 2% cpu use. Is that supposed to be that way? What is really happening? Are those physical cpus (cores) really being 100% used? If I have 8 cores, and I set 2 or 3 vms with 4 vcpus each, will that annihilate performance, even though the vms are idle? Singularity?
Hi all, When using lm to model a response with 8 explanatory variables, one of the variables is not defined due to "singularities". I have checked the csv file from which the data come, there are no na's in the dataset, etc. What should I be looking for in this variable to correct the problem? Thanks for any help. wine and Japanese
Does anyone know if there are any plans to make wine capable of handling Japanese display and input? I tried running MS Word 98J and got what looked like a bunch of code-page errors. And menu text doesn't display properly, which I suppose is due to font problems (same for Japanese notepad and wordpad).
