Don't Understand Error Entry
I am using dovecot-0.99.11-8.EL4 on my system and decided to check the logs
since I just took over as the administrator on this system and I noticed the
same error entry over and over in the logs. I went to /var/log/dovecot.err
and see:

strange caller display
Hi all,
I am using asterisk1.2.14,realtime and I find there is a strange
case in the receiver's display. I have a dial plan to route a call
to the destination. I haven't set the callerid(num) for the caller.
In the receive ends, it's display shows "asterisk" when I make a call
to the receiver. I wonder why "asterisk" shows in the display as I
haven't set

sporting the "Angry Unicorn" that you may remember from github error
pages.
i hope some of you might like it as well:

Siemens Gigaset IP in USA (S685 IP in particular)
For some unfathomable reason, Siemens USA doesn't offer the Gigaset IP
range in the U.S. I'm particularly interested in the Gigaset S685 IP.
Since it's DECT 6.0, and there's an English (UK) version, I'm thinking
it should work just fine, after dealing with the walwart issue (and
maybe caller ID signalling).
Anyone imported one from the UK and using it in the US? for how

angry red X's & disconnected drives
Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen of the Samba list,
I have a curious problem on one of my windows 2000 machines.
As soon as the user connects to a samba share, they are disconnected and
the drive appears marked with a red X
The samba logs indicate that 10-20 seconds after any user of this machine
connects to a network drive, they are disconnected.
Oddly enough, you can browse the contents of

Out of 5 Grandstream BudgeTone 101 THREE are defect !!! (from Pulverstore)
I bought three plus two Grandstream BudgeTone 101 phones.
The shipping cost more than the phone itself from Pulver store.
The first shipping had one phone defect. Nothing on the display. (Can
happen!)
The second shipment had one phone with a defect display, but it still
worked.
The second phone's handset was defect too (microphone did not work).
Changing the handset from this one to the

typeIII SS for lme?
To avoid angry replies, let me first say that I know that the use of
Type III sums of squares is controversial, and that some statisticians
recommend instead that significance be judged using the non-marginal
terms in the ANOVA. However, given that type III SS is also demanded by
some… is there a function (equivalent to drop1 for lm) to obtain type
III sums of squares for mixed models using the

60% full and writes fail..
I have a setup with lot's of small files (Maildir), in 4 different
volumes and for some
reason the volumes are full when they reach 60% usage (as reported by
df ).
This was ofcourse a bit of a supprise for me .. lots of failed
writes, bounced messages
and very angry customers.
Has anybody on this list seen this before (not the angry customers ;-) ?

Shared profiles under XP?
Hiya.
Is it possible to share profiles between different users with Samba
3.0CVS acting as a PDC, and XP Workstations?
All users are using the same profile share; the concept is that there's
an "Admin" user which can read/write to this, so I can setup things
such as Internet Explorer settings / Desktop/Start Menu items / color
scheme, etc..., and all other users only have read

Samba 3.0.1 -> 3.0.2 upgrade problem
Hello!
This morning I tried to upgrade Samba from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 final on our 3
servers and users were not able to login. All servers run RedHat 7.3, we
use LDAP as backend. Two servers work as PDC (each in different VLAN), one
server is BDC. I had only few minutes to test it from Windows XP clients
(we use Windows 98, 2000 and XP clients in our company) because we have
hundreds of users

re: 120 GB larger hard disk
Hi,
I don´t think that this is a ext3 Problem, since you have problems
partitioning that disk.
Perhaps a hdparm -i /dev/hdX could shine some light on this,
also a fdisk -l /dev/hdX could be useful.
For now - let me guess:
<guess>
To me, it seems, that the disk is clipped to 32GB, perhaps the
mainboard bios can not cope with a disk >32GB - just a thought.

Fwd: Good installation documentation on samba4?
I figured out the resolv.conf bit fidgeting around. Thanks for the tip
anyway.
Regarding the krb5.conf I have never got it working with the example files.
I have always added at least a "kdc = samdom.example.com" to the lines, but
my file is actually still a bit more complex(and possibly redundant).
Regarding the troubleshooting page, it is *far* from complete. At the very
least, the

[LLVMdev] Build errors: llvm-gcc 4.3-2.5, x86-64.
From an x86-64 machine, I'm trying to compile llvm and llvm-gcc. I'm
using the LLVM 2.5 release, and the associated llvm-gcc tarball. llvm
compiles fine; ours is compiled to a Debugging version. llvm-gcc,
though, is angry. I get the following error (with path prefixes
shortened for convenience) when compiling llvm-gcc:
