[dist]how to analise a large matrix?
Hi all, I have a matrix of about 100.000?x 4?that I need?to classify using euclidean metric. For that I am using dist?or daisy functions, but I am afraid that the message: Error in vector("double", length) : vector size specified is too large, means too much lines. Can anyone suggest me how should I analyse this matrix? Thanks in advance, Diogo Andr? Alagador MNCN,CSIC, Madrid, Spain

how to fix a factor
Hi all, I created a data frame with three factors, plus the response that looks like this: x1 x2 x3 y a 1 1 0.3 a 2 1 0.1 b 1 1 0.4 c 4 3 0.1 ... I would like to analise the effect of two of them, keeping the third fixed (I already know the effect of the last). The reason why I don't create several data frames for each value of the thirs factor is simply convenience (I'd like to be able

[LLVMdev] Python Backend
Hi! I'm trying to write LLVM Python Backend (to generate Python code out of LLVM IR) I'm still learning LLVM and for now it is very hard to me to even create simple taksk. I want you to ask 3 questions: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) I want to base on some existing code to learn how it was build. I wanted to base on CBackend (which

Fisheries acoustics
Hi, member-list i'm searching for packages or routines to analise fisheries acoustics data. Something make import data of scientific ecosound (EK500) of paralel port, filter signal, analyse pattern of pixel fish shoals... Is there someone work with this ? If no, why dont make colective effort to do this?? (package fish_acoustic). Thanks Marcelo

warning in binomial analysis
Hi, I have make an analise with presence and absence, y=(1 e 0). I have a area continuous data and a sp data with 25 levels. I have 300 points. When I make glm((presenca/peso)~area,weights=peso,family=binomial,maxit=1000) where presenca is 0 or 1. peso is the unit = 1. area is the continuous data. The analysis is OK. When I put the sp and interactions in analysis this warning appear.

Icecast2 has been up till now in the icecast bitkeeper repository. Jack posted a couple of days ago that it would be moving to the xiph.org CVS. You can also get an August 7 snapshot from http://i.cantcode.com/~jack/

[LLVMdev] Python Backend
Hi, I have a version of the old CBackend which is working with the current trunk. I am in the progress of rewriting it into a new version but that project is not going as fast as I would hope as I have been distracted by other tasks with higher priority lately. Anyway, for those interested, I can provide patches, optionally separated into several parts (core, testing, misc). I am afraid that

Printing from Windows to Samba takes a LOT of time.
Hi there, I've a linux server (PII 233, 94mb ram) running Mandrake Linux 9.1 with an HP printer attached to it. I've configured the printer (I'm using CUPS) and it works fine. Next, I've configured samba: [global] . . . workgroup = MYWORKGROUP security = share log level = 2 printing = cups . . . [hp] printer = hp printable = yes path = /var/spool/samba

Re: ASCAP/BMI and college stations (fwd)
Here is the response from my friend. I would venture to say that if we were reporting to them then someone was paying a fee. Sean... >>>> Sean, In MTSU's case, I think their ASCAP/BMI license covers everything, including WMOT and WMTS... I know WMTS didn't have to pay ASCAP/BMI fees....but..they had to report their playlists to them...which was a pain in the ass.... -M

[LLVMdev] Python Backend
I will take a look into NVPTX. I don't want to deconstruct C++ classes to generate Python code - I want to generate Python backend :) Its purpose is to be able to generate Python code from LLVM IR code (not C++ code! - C++ code is needed for me only to get a sample IR code). I want to write my custom compiler in the future and I want to be able to output Python code from it (of course not

[LLVMdev] Python Backend
I'm very interested in this patch. Could you, Roel, upload it somewhere or maybe put your code to github or something simmilar? Additional - you're fixing it - could you please provide a little more information - what should I read to get more informations about writing not hardware but software backend in LLVM? (Of course the code analysis is one way, but maybe there is other also).

arguments of lpSolve
Dear all, I am a beginner with lpSolve package (and not an expert in the others). I can not understand why I am doing wrong, and I would be very grateful if anyone could please help me on this. I am trying to optimize ("min") the sum of columns/variables, constrained to >=1. Each column/variables has its weight - given by values at f.obj. The matrix for numeric constraint
