constraint matrices in vglm (VGAM package)
Hello R users,
I am performing a multinomial logit regression and would like to
constrain a few model coefficients to be equal.
Here is my model:
multi <- vglm(case123con ~ SNP_A1+SNP_A2+age, multinomial, work.analy)
where case123con is a four level categorical variable (case 1, case 2,
case 3, control) and SNP_A1 and SNP_A2 are indicator functions (yes/no).
The output of this

Tags Layout
Hi,
When looking into a Flac file with an hexadecimal editor, I observe that the different tags (date, tittle, etc...) are, one time all displayed in capital letters (DATE=), on an other time all displayed in minus letters (date=), or...a mix of both : some tags in capital letters, others in minus letters.
For tagging (and encode/decode) I use the Flac Frontend listed on your site. When testing

Cargar lista de variables en función
...realizar algún análisis. Mi idea es la siguiente:
library(foreign)
FDatos <- function(Ruta,Nombre,Variables){
Datos <- read.spss(paste(Ruta,"/",Nombre,sep=""),to.data.frame=TRUE)
Var01 <- subset(Datos,select=Variables)
}
### PARÁMETROS A MODIFICAR ###
Analis <- FDatos (
Ruta = "C:/Archivos de programa/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/19/Samples/English",
Nombre = "adl.sav",
Variables = c(id,age,los)
)
Pero al ejecutarlo me sale: “Error en eval(expr, envir, enclos) : objeto
''id'' no encontrado”. Alguna sugerencia?...

ogg decoding without "synchronization"
Hi list,
I have an artistic project in which I manipulate streams.
At the moment I'm using ogg vorbis streams, Icecast servers and the
multimedia puredata software.
In this project I would like to read an ogg stream from an icecast
server and decode data in the order it is incoming.
I would like to skip the step that is reordering the data conforming to
the order it was send.
Do you know

encoder block diagram
I've made a block diagram of the encoder because I tried to find out, how it works
http://stoffke.freeshell.65535.net/ogg/block.html
Although there are specifiation docs, that give very
detailed information about single aspects of the encoding (or decoding) ,
I'm missing documenations that give a more general overview,
about how the encoder works.

need help with data management
I have a data frame that reads
client ID date transcations

I want to order the rows by client ID and date and using a black-box
forecasting method create the data fcst(client,date of forecast, date
for which forecast applies).

OCFS filesystem used 7%
Hi all...
I have a strange problem. 2 of my mount points already use 7% of space, even
when I check the directory is empty.
When I re-format it, it release the space for a while, after 1 or 2 days,
the space is used again for 7% - 10 %.
What could be the reason?
I am using RHAS 2.1 Enterprise Kernel 2.1 and OCFS release 1.0.9-6
Thanks

Age-period-cohort model
Dear R-list,
I think it's really a newbie question but ...
I try to model age-period-cohort models with polynoms in each effect. I have
for each level of age and period some cases -k- and persons-years -py-.
Models are A_xP_y:
log(k_age,period/py_age,period)=f(polynom(x),age)+f(polynom(y),period). For
exemple I try to adjust an A2P3 :

Intercept by level in GLM
Dear R-listers,
I have to explain "y", a continous variable, with two variables "t" and "p"
which are "factor variables": t is [1:12] and p is [1:18] (a value for y for
each combination t*p). OK, then I try to adjust models like: y=a_p + b*t (I
mean as many intercepts as levels of p) or y=a_p + b_p*t (as many intercepts
and coefficients for t as levels of

tcltk installation problem
Dear all,
I want to use GraspeR (on R 1.6.0) and have to install tcltk library. When
I try to do this, I get back this error message:

Error in library(pkg, character.only = TRUE) :

But I have a tcl/tk package (Active TCL 8.4.1.0) correctly install on my PC

Problems running IsoMDS using vegdist with pres-abs data and two sites with zero distance
Hi
I have just (finally) started to poke around in R and wanted to analyse
a stream fish dataset with 28 sites and 18 species. When trying to
follow the Vegan manual to run nmds from distance measures calculated by
the vegdist function it turns out that I have two sites (streams) with
the exactly the same four species (I have used pres-abs data in this
case). When I try to run isoMDS I get an

NMDS plot and Adonis (PerMANOVA) of community composition with presence absence and relative intensity
Hi!
Thanks for providing great help in R-related statistics. Now, however I'm
stuck. I'm not a statistics person but I was recommended to use R to perform
a nmds plot and PerMANOVA of my dataset.
Sample(treatment) in the columns and species (OTU) in the rows. I have 4
treatments (Ambient Temperature, Ambient temperature+Low pH, High
temperature, High temperature+low pH), and I have 16
